Russian officials wanted to spoil Vita Semerenko's doping test and blame her in a doping offense.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/02/sports/olympics/russian-doping.html

They wanted to commit this crime at the 2013 Race of Champions in Moscow. Unlike at the World Cup the doping procedure wasn't anonymous there. They saw her name and they had a full access to her test.

Like it wasn't enough Olga Vilukhina stole her silver in Sochi.

It's almost midnight in Ostersund but some people in our federation are already shocked & speechless.

Absolutely despicable.

Knowing this, it’s far more likely they’ll be banned, I think.

I guess so, but not sure if that's good.

I’m not too sure what to think of him. But I know the Russians were quite desperate to win in that season. So I wouldn’t necessarily put it past them. Surely some of the proof can be established 100%?

The previous words of Rodchenkov have been already proven by Oswald & Schmid commissions so these words sound persuasive enough. If I understood right he's got hand-written notes from the officials which he handed to journalists.

The president of Ukrainian biathlon federation said that it was a true shock for them. He understands the reason behind all of that. A LOT of money were spent on the Olympics, they craved for medals no matter what. He said that he doesn't believe that the president of Russian biathlon federation was involved or their exec director but he believes that it could be done by Russian officials from the ministry & infamous Moscow laboratory.

He also hinted that our biathletes will not visit any competitions in Russia.

Kuzmina gave an interview to our federation's site and she said that she might stay after the Olympic season.

Google translates it like she said the opposite (that she'll most likely stop after this season).

For me this season, in all probability, will be the last. I will finish after the Olympic Games, or maybe some time in the relay I will help the girls.

:p

    • The only ones complaining about the short track refs are Italians, imo. Not even on this forum, but in general, from what I've been seeing on live chats and other social media sites. That says a lot to be honest. I suspect it's partially due to them not performing to the high standard they're expected to perform at especially at the Olympics. The refs make a lot of mistakes for everyone, there's no bias against or towards anyone    Plus, Italy have won 6 medals already.... the most you've won at a Worlds since 2016.
    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
    • I wonder if all Cuba, Iran and Venezuela will be able to travel and compete in LA at all... Hopefully that yes.
