Also Egil Gjeland became today the coach of the Czech Women´s Team ! The Norwegian will be assisted by his fellow-countryman Anders Magus Bratli, Kateřina Emmons the well known former Olympic shooting star will be the shooting coach.

Gjeland will replace Zdenék Vítek who will move as a head coach to the Men´s Team (will be also helped by Bratli as assistant). Gjeland is the first ever foreign coach in Czech National Biathlon team.

Team Lithuania has acquired the coach of Belarus B Team. Don't know yet if it's an upgrade or downgrade, but our women athletes were being beaten by his former athletes all season, so perhaps an upgrade? :mumble:

Darya Domracheva officially finished her career today

Can't help, but figure that a lot of the decision power was influenced by Bjoerndalen...

Darya was looking great, potential winner of the crystal globe next season. I can't say that she was my favourite biathlete, nor have I ever rooted for her, but too soon...

Meanwhile Ukrainian fans started "leaving" our biathlon since the women's team had been headed by the Russian with a doping history

Semerenko sisters openly went against Merkushyna and Varvynets (1 day before their race at the Olympics) saying that the federation is unprofessional and those girls didn't deserve their place in that race even despite Valja flopped the final training/preselection. The team is still a divided mess with unhealthy relationships.

Both Semerenkos like the new Russian. Merkushyna and Varvynets have their own coaches. Since Uros Velepec has been fired, Dzhyma trains with the :SLO Slovenian team because his methods suit her well. She hinted at sisters saying that there's no team spirit and she hasn't talked to anyone in the team for a long time, even at the Olympics o__0.

Pidhrushna says neutral stuff but knowing her position I'm 100% sure she can't stand the new coach and what's going on with the team right now. She didn't go training with that group ... supposedly because of a minor shoulder injury ;)

I cheer only for Dzhyma, Pidhrushna, Merkyshyna & our men's team because the women's team is a huge disastrous mess.

Varvynets refused from a surgery meaning that she will probably never improve to her best level.

Vitaliy Kilchitskiy is back. Thank gawd that Russian dopingophile is not their coach - Kilya would physically assaulted him (not joking, I'm dead serious). But he didn't compete for a long time so I don't expect gr8 results from him.

    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
