Pan Qimiao :CHN is a beast. Hungary :HUN was defeating China 40-34 in the Junior Women’s Sabre SF and Qimiao won the last round with a 11-4 comeback to win it 45-44

:CHN qualified to both of Today's Gold Medal games :yikes:

and beat :ITA in both tournaments in their way through to the final

the disappointing campaign of the young :ITA sabre continues (even if the boys are now playing for bronze against :TUR)

Overall, all of Old Europe is poorly here: France - 0 medals, Germany - 0 medals, Italy - 1 bronze, Hungary - 1 bronze. For many years the fencing authorities' policy has been to give greater support to Asia and other new emergent countries: Africa, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Georgia, etc., and perhaps that's where Europe's crisis? Additionally Russia has returned and is immediately very strong.
