is it allways the same route for the obstacle? or does it vary from event to event?

i see the graphic says "pb" so i assume the route is allways the same?

No, it changes every time. In fact, it would be ridiculous to have WR/PB. Some obstacles are ‘fixed’ and present in every race, such as the initial section, the big wall at the end, or the ‘walls’ to climb over or pass under. Other obstacles, however, change from race to race and are chosen from a pre-established set of 14 obstacles.

ok but each athlete does have a PB at the start of the obstable event on the graphic next to their name

and at the end the WR graphic of 27.69 appears...

it is weird because no one in womens semi final B is close to that time so who knows what it all means 🤣

I imagine the WR/PB refers to the points score gained in that discipline.  So even although the apparatus is slightly different, the points score would be consistent.

So the WRs in the Swimming Discipline will probably stand for decades, because they were set in 50m pools (25m pools now standard) and after a much longer rest period.

Green from :GBR sneaking through to make it 3/3 into the women finals, i've not completly forgiven the world for taking away the psychotic horses though but this is very enjoyable format

It is of note that there are no Neutral athletes competing at the World Champs, but they regularly made the finals during the WC season.

Not any more: the idea now is to have all the finals in one place, so this week we are in a 25m pool.  Now you can hire a 25m pool.

That's weird, because I remember that men in the swimming did only 4 turns and not 8, so I'm a bit confused

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
