Off we go, final climb.....

 

Probably Lipowitz v Onley the only real battle.  Cold and raining, perfect :SCO conditions.

 

Also Gall v Roglič for fifth maybe.

Another day with "crash" written all over it.  They've taken the final time already - but everyone has to cross the line to officially finish.  None of the big names seem to be backing off.  :pope:

 

Pogačar is going for the win, but there has obviously been a peace treaty agreed in the White Jersey race, because this is the kind of finish Onley usually contests.

      We now know the first few athletes that will compete in the mass start based on the World Cup Standings (13-15 for the men, 14-15 for the women)   Men:    Eric Perrot  Quentin Fillon Maillet  Emilien Jacquelin  Philipp Nawrath  Tommaso Giacomel  Lukas Hofer  Johan-Olav Botn  Johannes Dale-Skjevdal  Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen  Sturla Holm Laegreid  Martin Uldal  Isak Leknes Frey  Sebastian Samuelsson  Martin Ponsiluoma  Campbell Wright   The maximum number of athletes allowed per nation is 4 unless there are 5 or more individual medallists so Uldal and Frey need to win a medal in Cortina to compete, otherwise the Norwegian quotas will be taken up by the top 4 athletes listed.   Women:    Lisa Theresa Hauser  Suvi Minkkinen  Lou Jeanmonnot  Camille Bened  Justine Braisaz-Bouchet  Oceane Michelon  Julia Simon  Franziska Preuss  Lisa Vittozzi  Dorothea Wierer  Maren Kirkeeide  Anna Magnusson  Hanna Oeberg  Elvira Oeberg  Amy Baserga   Like with the Norweigian men, France is only allowed a maximum of 4 athletes unless all 5 win individual medals so Simon needs to win a medal to be able to compete, otherwise the French quotas will go to the top 4 listed.
