Johann Zarco wins an absolutely crazy French Grand Prix in the MotoGP, the first Frenchman to win the top-class French GP in 71 years

Once again, massive luck for the Marquez family. Alex crashed even before turn 1 in Silverstone (from the lead), Marc crashed a lap later (from the lead), but a red flag causes them both to be allowed to restart.

 

Meanwhile, of all days, a red flag is on the day where there's only a few minutes to spare between MotoGP and F1....ugh.

Just a great race today. It was nice seeing Bezzecchi get his first win since India 2023 and Aprilia first since Americas 2024 and with Zarco back to back podium today and Marquez photo finish with Morbidelli. Gutted and sad when Quartararo have a issue in the bike of the car, you can see the emotion and heartbreak in his mind and body language that I hope he can become stronger.

 

This will be for sure better and less boring than what we will have in Monaco Grand Prix currently.

Meanwhile Marquez is on his way to get the world title today. He's got 6 GP's and 5 sprints (including today) and if Alex wins every single one of them, Marc needs a grand total of 19 points. Highly likely he'll get it today already, but if not, there is not a single doubt - nor has there been this entire year - about whether or not he will win the title.

And there it is, world champion and now equal with Valentino Rossi

 

Only Giacomo Agostini has one more main world title, for now. Incredibly impressive comeback after years of injuries and a hundred crashes.
