Now it's time to add field events, take away the illogical grouping of events and make sure the program is filled with stuff going on :p

johnson clearly doesn't care about field events so that part isn't happening, there are plans for grand slam field in 2026 by some british guy who was present in ussr during the doping era,so that could be interesting.

Yeah, I know it isn't happening, so I kinda hope the whole thing just flops and is done after 1 or 2 years :p

Grand Slam Track is a bigger danger to athletics than anything Coe or whoever has done in the past 10-15 years.

expand on that for me cause many would raise an eyebrow at that statement and would see you as just a hater.

I know many think "Nice, shiny things, it must be great", but...what is it actually adding? So far, it adds a format where they combine two events in one 'set', which often don't really have much to do with one another, and resulting in 80% of the time being filled with waiting. While also entirely ignoring field events (I know, it's Grand Slam Track), which is basically half of the sport. If this gets big, I fear for field events, and with that, for the sport itself. We might end up with athletics being almost entirely running only.

All I want is hammer throw at Diamond League’s. Is that too much to ask for? :d

Definitely. They want fewer field events, not more, so that ain't happening :p

perfectly valid, and yeah as a throws person,i really don't care much for the concept either,i wouldn't raise alarm bells yet,i don't think it's gonna be all that crazy in year one,but i mean as funny as it may sound,i think grand slam track means that something like ramona is not a need but a MUST now,if the track people can just do this now,i don't see ANY valid reason for RAMONA to not exist for at THE VERY LEAST,discus throwers to get attention, but a top 5 ever result was achieved in the women's hammer there too this year, and you can't blame THAT one on the wind.

Ramona can definitely exist, of course, if it is within the rules there is no problem with it, although we should of course look at those results with a certain point of view :p

Like track cycling records on 3km altitude, or swimming records in super suits. They count, but a 4:00.0 on 3km altitude is not as good as a 4:00.0 on sea level, just like a 70m in Ramona is very likely not a 'better throw' than a 70m in a stadium during major championships.
