it's mainly the East European teams taking part.

Do not dare to forget mighty Brazil!

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Start lists for tomorrow's junior super sprints are out, and as expected, quite a few well-known names from mostly Eastern European nations, mixed in with some lesser known from other nations. The more exotic nations one tends to see at these things are there as well, including Brazil, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia. Actually Georgia as well this time, that's nice and I wonder if IBU has finally moved away from using the Georgian flag that was replaced in 2004 (last time they still used the old one in their system).

Anyone care to think with me here? I'm lost as to how the supersprint qualifying works. Junior men have finished, it consisted of four heats. A total of 30 athletes qualified for the final, the start list of which can be found here:

C51D2_v1.pdf (ibu.blob.core.windows.net)

Since it's very unclear exactly who qualified (not the 30 fastest overall and also not the top-X per heat), I looked at exactly who is on the start list out of which heat.

Here we have heat 1's result, top-9 is in the start list for the final:

C73E_v1.pdf (ibu.blob.core.windows.net)

Heat 2, top-8 is on the final's start list:

C73E_v1.pdf (ibu.blob.core.windows.net)

Heat 3, top-8 as well:

C73E_v1.pdf (ibu.blob.core.windows.net)

And finally heat 4, the top-6 of which is on the start list for the final:

C73E_v1.pdf (ibu.blob.core.windows.net)

Now, besides the question of how one qualifies, another question has been raised: there are 30 athletes on the final start list, bibs 1 through 30. However, 9 + 8 + 8 + 6 is.....31? But I checked every single one of these athletes, all 31 are on the start list, but the start list contains only 30 names. What black magic is this?!

eighth-placed ADAMOV Michal from heat 3 is not in the final start list, so we have 7 biathletes from heat 3 and it's 9 + 8 + 7 + 6 = 30

mayve you were confused with two Adamovs from Slovakia?

Aaaaah it's two Adamovs, indeed! Seriously, I thought I was getting mad here, thanks for being a lot sharper than I was :d

Now I think it is safe to assume it's the top-6 of every heat plus the 6 fastest non-qualifiers.

:CZE David Elias won the junior men's super sprint, only one miss. Silver for speedy :CRO Matija Legovic and bronze went to :SWE Victor Berglund. :NOR Sivert Gerhardsen was going to win this thing, but missed three in the last shooting round and ended up 0,2 seconds behind the bronze.

As for the junior women, gold for Bulgaria's Lora Hristova and her lone miss. Dominant win, 25 seconds ahead of :FIN Inka Hamalainen, who beat out :NOR Ragne Fodstad.

Senior men's qualifying heats are underway now, with :SWE Jesper Nelin so far definitely being the biggest name who'll miss out on the final.

Men's super sprint final is underway and they've managed to make the Eurovisionsports website even worse :hyper:

Now when watching in full-screen, the time bar at the bottom doesn't go away, fantastic new feature
