Congrats to Bulgaria. they were clearly the better team.

Nikolov (the big one) really deserves the MVP award already . yeah I know how FIVB works. Bulgaria has to win the whole thing to make that happen

Then Bulgaria wins and they give the MVP to Atanasov.

Bulgaria finished in the top 4 of the World Championships for the first time since 2006. In that time they lost to Poland 1-3 and it was a very similar match against the Czech Republic's at now (Poland was much weaker team in 2006 and the match was very open, if I remember good), later they won bronze after beat Serbia and Montenegro. Now they have another great chance to reach the final. One of these two teams will probably take silver, but the other will be probably at 4 places, so the fight will be fierce. I just hope Nikolov Jr. and company will make a bigger success in NT team than his father and Matej Kazyiski almost 20 years ago.

I'm in 99% certain, that the MVP will be Leon or Kurek. Unless a miracle happens and Michielletto, if Italy can win. I'm worried that we'll be playing our 1/2 final later than the first and that might backfire in the bronze medal match against the Czech Republic/Bul. I'm afraid that after another loss to Poland, we might fall mentally (and it doesn't really matter whether we lose 0-3 or after a tough fight 2-3).

Poland is the best team in the world, but they're not invincible, not when their setter is Komenda and they don't have Sliwka.

In the women's competition, Italy's superiority was even greater, and we proved we could compete with them (and we could have won if Bergmann hadn't had her worst match of the year). I don't see why you can't challenge Poland here, too.

Regarding the bronze medal, well... Italy hasn't really handled bronze medal matches very well in recent years. But I think the Czech Republic has very few resources to compete, even for a mentally weakened Italy.

What does this mean? Do you think, that Italy only wants gold and then bronze doesn't matter to them?

However, I think that the Italy Women's NT is too weak in OH position, expect Sylla, to be a 100% favorite in every match and this was evident in the semi-finals and final of the World Championships. With Pietrini in good form, it would probably  2x 3-0/3-1 wins, but not with Nervini or Giovannini, or with Fahr and Orro injured.

Who do you think is stronger: Brazil from 2004-2006 or current Poland?
