Yes, nothing that has happaned so far is terrible, elimination match is the most important other than the points race at the end, so we'll know in that if he has the legs or not today

Saving his legs for the points race is my thought here. He wasn’t interested in getting involved in that tempo although rescued a fair position with a sprint at the end

Sorry, but this is an absolutely ridiculous comment. Hayter absolutely rode his balls off in an excellent Team Pursuit performance, and is still well in contention in the Omnium.

It's easier said that done. Not all riders are treated equally. Some will be allowed to go off because they are perceived to be not a threat. Others will be marked very closely.

 

Not a great race, but he saved his effort for the sprint at the end to salvage something.

 

He's not out of medal contention yet.
