Nothing. Some russian media announced that canoe quotas were stripped by the IOC but that is not correct... by now

The ioc has 8 tennis players from Russia that are eligible but kachanov, samsonov and rublev have declined . So what will they do in that case. Give it to three other Russians or three other nations now?

:ESP Federation confirmed the reallocation of the :AIN men's C1 a few days ago, so I think they will keep the C2 quota.

It's a bit of a surprise that they are cutting them down everywhere and they left the canoe alone, even though there were a lot of doubts about the interpretation of the word "team- crew" and Styhl's rich doping past.

As well as Korovashkov`s EPO

 

But the question is still open (on wednesday russian canoe officials said that they do not know the fate of their quotas).

It is only the decision at ICF level (to keep C2 and reallocate C1). As we could see in wrestling that it means nothing for the IOC.

 

By now the IOC did not say a word on Canoe sprint, Judo and Swimming. So it can go one way or another.

Swimming? After all, the Russians themselves withdrew from this discipline. Since they were banned from the World Championships in Doha in February, the topic of swimming has not been discussed in their context.

Yes, but belorussians have several quotas. And some of them may be lost too.

 

Yefimova tried to qualify via the Championship of Bahamas but failed. WA answered to russian request that they will not give her a wildcard.

 

But! Some russian swimmer Somov got neutral status at the last moment and is going to compete in Paris. 

I have never seen his name before. But he lives in the USA so he is not connected to russia and may be allowed to go to the Olympics.

Kiripichnikova now it`s French. Jefimova, the one from Russia (because she is even younger from Estonia and also swims breaststroke), is probably already old and has no chance of winning medals. It's strange that she's still thinking about something.

      I`m a traditionalist and I like alpine skiing competitions in the morning hours, illuminated by the sun In ski jumping this is practically non-existentthis in contrast the early 21st century (It's nice that at least there's Planica at the end of every season). There are also traditional competitions under artificial lights, like in Schladming or Madonna di Campiglio. There's no need to do the same thing everywhere as in ski jumping. Alpine skiing finals are rarely super exciting, because usually everything is clear and the skiers are tired from the long season. Finals were often canceled, so this year it was okay for me. If someone wanted a spectacle, that's what the Olympics Games or the World Cup in Kitzbuchel.

      Baffling scheduling again. It's like FIS want to drive people away.    It's the Finals, on paper your big conclusion to the season, yet it feels like "let's get this over with". Just compare how the ATP treat their finals with this.   Ok, you want to have the GS & SL on Tuesday/Wednesday. That's fine, i've been advocating for more mid-week starts to begin with. But why, oh why do you have them in the middle of the day, on a work week.  Why aren't you having them in the evening, in prime time, when people are off work. Make it a big special event, which people want to visit and not during the day in front of a 100 fans. It's not that hard to choose a place with some floodlights.     And even this week we don't have Champion League football, so the night is free from big competition. Perfect opportunity to have alpine skiing on TV right now, but noooo.
