Alex Yee made a somewhat underwhelming return to the WTCS with a 9th place finish in the French Riviera event. It was a sprint event rather than full Olympic distance.  He had the 2nd fastest 5km run but he'd already lost a minute on the swim and bike legs to eventual winner Matt Hauser.

Connor Bentley came home in 17th whilst Ben Dijkstra was 19th.

On the women's side, Beth Potter was 5th, Olivia Mathias 12th and Sian Rainsley 15th. Jess Fullagar was the last of the Brits, coming home in 19th place.

The next stop in the series is :CZE Karlovy Vary in a couple of weeks time.

Max Stapley, Hugo Milner, Oliver Conway, Jack Willis and Harry Leleu are on the start list for the men's event whilst Kate Waugh, Olivia Mathias, Sian Rainsley, Jess Fullagar and Beth Potter line up in the women's event.

Oliver Conway looks the real deal, good swim & bike but a stonking 10,000m to finish.

He's been on the radar a couple of years now, some ridiculous results for a 19/20yo. Also worth noting Kate Waugh had a big win in the T100 over the weekend; a number of major triathletes whose season was broken up leaving them out of the WTCS reckoning prioritised the T100

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
