After their 9th place finish at the European Championships, the Bello brothers travel to  Montreal for the Elite16 event next week. It'll be  v  as they first play Holting Nilsson / E Andersson on Thursday before facing Ahman / Hellvig on Friday. 

 

With Ahman/Hellvig currently ranked number 2 in the world, their first match is the one that will determine if they get through to the knock out matches. Nilsson/Andersson are ranked 9th in the world - 2 places higher than the British pairing.

 Bello Brothers win their first pool match at the Hamburg Elite16 event. They take out  Krattiger & Dillier 21-11 / 18-21 / 15-12. 

 

They'll be back on court tomorrow against  Boermans & de Groot

 Bello Brothers through to the final of the Challenger event in Nuvali  

 

It could prove an important tournament for them as they look to offset the 1200 points from their Elite16 win in Rio which will drop out of their ranking points total next month

Nice to see GB Beach Volleyball isn't wholly reliant on the Bello Brothers. Bialokoz and Baltrane have qualified for the main draw at the Elite16 event in Cape Town.

Safe to say this week hasn't gone exactly to plan for the Bello Brothers having lost their first 2 matches at World Champs. On the upside, they won today to secure a place in tomorrow's playoffs where they will face off against  Fuller / O'Dea. That should be a winnable match for the British pair - the Kiwis are ranked 66th in the world compared to the Bello's at 24th
