Bryony Page successfully defends her title at the European Trampoline Championships. She took the title with a score of 55.630 which is down 1.2 points on what she achieved at the World Champs last year.

Izzy Longhurst qualified for the final and finished in 7th place with 52.010, down around 2.5 points on her World Champs score.

In the men's individual, it wasn't a great competition for the Brits with all three making early mistakes. Paris bound Zak Perzamanos finished 23rd.

Women's team for European Championships:

Ondine Achampong

Alice Kinsella

Becky Downie

Ruby Evans

Georgia-Mae Fenton

Do feel that Fenton can count herself fortunate to be included given she didn't have a great English or British champs. She was however solid in Antalya at the weekend so hopefully she can have a run of consistency going into the Olympics.

Ondine Achampong has been withdrawn from the team due to injury and will be replaced by Abigail Martin next week.

Oh no. Hoeofully nothing serious otherwise the team will struggle to even make the final in Paris.

Man the women’s team is snake bitten. With a fully fit squad they could have really challenged in Paris.

The more things progress the more likely it seems that either Gadirova sister will not make it back in time. At least on the socials the recovery of Jess seems to be going well, just don’t think they are targeting Paris.

Hopefully it's a Whitlock style situation and mainly precautionary.

Quick run down of the results from the European Champs this weekend starting with team qualifying/individual all-around from Wednesday:

Jake Jarman: Finished 4th in the individual all-around and was 0.334 shy of the podium. As expected, he had a great vault - 14.933 - which I think was the highest vault score in the AA. He also had a great floor routine scoring 14.533. He made the individual final for both floor and vault. He probably underperformed on the 4 other apparatus - 13.866 for pommel, 13.133 for rings, 13.400 for P-Bars and 13.566 for the horizontal bar.

Going into Paris, I'd like to see him hitting 14+ on 4 apparatus. Rings will always be a bit of a struggle, but it would be great to see him consistently hitting over 13.500.

Courtney Tulloch: Finished 14th in the individual all-around. He put in good performances on both rings and vault, scoring 14.700 for both and qualifying for the rings final. Other than that, his results were about what we would expect - 13.800 for floor, 12.366 on pommel, 13.700 on P-Bars and 12.566 on horizontal bar.

Joe Fraser: Had a nightmare start, falling 3 times on pommel and it didn't get much better as he went through the rest of the apparatus. In the end, he finished 52nd in the all-around as he failed to score over 14.000 on any of the apparatus. His scores were 10.000 for pommel, 13.566 for rings, 13.900 for vault, 12.266 on P-Bars, 13.866 on horizontal bar and 12.500 on floor.

Luke Whitehouse: Came in as late replacement for Max Whitlock and had solid qualification competition. His highlight was the floor where he qualified for the individual final in 2nd place with 14.766. He also qualified for the vault final.

Harry Hepworth: Not sure what to make of Hepworth - not sure if he is carrying a niggle or was just out of sorts - but he only competed on vault and rings, and his results were not enough to get him into the individual finals.

Overall the team qualified in 2nd place behind :UKR, scoring 251.028 against Ukraine's 253.661.

Also competing this week was as an individual athlete was James Hall, and he lived up to his reputation as Mr. Consistent, scoring 13.800 on floor, 13.900 on pommel, 14.333 on P-Bars and 12.966 on horizontal bar. His P-Bar score was enough to see him qualify for the individual final in 8th place.

Just correcting this - looks like Hall was promoted to the team when Whitlock withdrew and Whitehouse became the British individual athlete.

Absolutely devastating news to hear that Ondine has torn her ACL so is the end of her Paris dreams; and by association the chances of the women’s squad.

Horrible luck for her; hopefully she has a smooth and speedy recovery.

Horrible news.

Let’s hope they take into account all the horrible injuries when deciding funding for the sport for the next cycle.

    • And even here we lose to France? I really don't know what's the point of organizing the Olympics if you can't make progress in practically any sport. France has the Olympics in 2030 and there they will definitely prepare 100%, just like for Paris. We can't do that. It's obvious that in ski jumping we have no chance of winning medals, but decency dictates that we should at least win here with a France like that.
    • There is no snow in Lillehammer
    • Finally the ski jumping season begins 11 teams in the (real) mixed team competition, no Switzerland.
    • Most of our athletes are constantly bothered by something: the pressure to qualify, the miss of pressure when they have already qualified, etc. It's the same in football: at the beginning of the season they are a poor form becouse of a little played and at the end of the season they are tired. They are always looking for excuses. A real champion always plays at a high level, like Sinner, and doesn`t look for 1000 excuses for his poor performance.
    • Think it is mentally difficult for the two teams with the Olympic place guaranteed and the pressure off, whereas everyone else is absolutely playing at 110%.  I'm sure things will be better once they get to Milan.
    • There's no point in cheating, these were terrible European Championships for us. Retronaz out of form, Constantini with a huge number of big mistakes. Only illness can excuse it... We've probably lost the last 10 matches with Switzerland... It looks like Constantini had the tournament of her life in mixed doubles in 2022 in Beijing and she will never reach this level again.
    • What good is it to us if we took 4th place and lost an important match? If Constantini was sick, I forgive her, but I'm afraid that the Italian team will not exceed a certain level. Yes, they have made progress since 2022, but they lack that one decisive step to become a class team. Here we lost all important matches with teams at our/higher level: Sui x2, Sco x2, Swe. We only won with the one we were supposed to win with. I don't believe in a medal for this team in Cortina. After 2022, it seemed that Constantini could dominate women's curling, but it didn't happen that way. After Sinner's recent successes, I opened my eyes a bit and started to demand more from our athletes, coaches, and officials. I have no intention of being satisfied with 4th place, because with this approach, you won't achieve anything great.
    • play their best, but only get 1, so  get bronze 6-4!
    • Oh dear, once again a 50% shot from Constantini when she needed 100%.   blank the end & go into the 10th with the Hammer of Thor.
