Women's Uneven Bars:

1.) Alice Kinsella - 14.500

2.) Ondine Achampong - 14.200

3.) Rebecca Downie - 14.100

4.) Charlotte Booth - 13.450

5.) Amelie Morgan - 13.350

6.) Georgia-Mae Fenton - 13.100

6.) Grace Davies - 13.100

8.) Abigail Martin - 12.500

9.) Tilly Wright - 12.300

10.) Ruby Stacey - 12.300

Arguably GB's strongest piece of apparatus - having 3 athletes able to hit >14 would keep pace with USA and China among others. But it does pose the question of whether Beckie Downie is taken into the team as a single apparatus specialist. Perhaps most disappointing result was from Amelie Morgan - in Tokyo she hit a 14.033 so she was well down on what she is capable of.

Both Kinsella and Achampong could be in the mix for an individual final spot - but they'd be unlikely to make the podium.

Women's Balance Beam:

1.) Ondine Achampong - 13.750

2.) Georgia-Mae Fenton - 13.650

3.) Amelie Morgan - 13.100

4.) Rebecca Downie - 12.750

5.) Ema Kandalova - 12.650

6.) Abigail Martin - 12.100

7.) Georgie Slack - 12.050

8.) Sophie Goodman - 12.050

9.) Willow Hughes - 11.950

9.) Tiegan Trafford - 11.950

In the absence of Gadirova, it was pretty mediocre scores across the board for a piece of apparatus that has been the undoing of many a GB team. Disappointing that nobody was able to get close to 14.

Alice Kinsella had a 'mare of a routine and came away with just 11.600 - in a 3-up and 3 to count format, that is a big risk for the team score.

Women's Vault:

1.) Abigail Martin - 13.000 ( 13.700 / 12.300)

2.) Mercedes Mary-Moore - 12.800 (13.150 / 12.450)

3.) Laura Nelson - 12.550 (13.050 / 12. 050)

Without Gadirova, GB don't really have a vault specialist.

Individual Vaults:

1.) Ondine Achampong - 14.300

2.) Alice Kinsella - 14.100

3.) Amelie Morgan - 13.750

4.) Abigail Martin - 13.700

5.) Georgia-Mae Fenton - 13.600

To be competitive, GB need to have 3 gymnasts who can hit over 14.000 in the vault. Without Gadirova, I'm not sure that we have that.

Just 2 :GBR athletes taking part in Baku Apparatus World Cup this week:

Harry Hepworth - (Assuming that he didn't injure himself at the English champs at the weekend).

Luke Whitehouse

With regards to Giarnni Regini-Moran, he has now missed the 15 of the DSEs. I assume he will be back for the British Champs later this month and he is on the start list for the Challenge Cup in Antalya at the end of March, but he is fast running out of opportunities to impress the selectors.

Harry Hepworth has put together a couple of decent performances in Baku and he has qualified for the final of both Vault and Rings.

Scores:

Rings - 14.300 - 4th place in qualifying

Vault - 14.683 (14.600 / 14.766) - 2nd place in qualifying

:GBR Championships got underway today in Liverpool with the juniors and disability athletes getting the action started.

From an Olympic selection perspective, the main event kicks off on Saturday - unfortunately I've not been able to track down an official entry list. On the men's side, it will be interesting to see if Regini-Moran is fit and able to compete. For the women, the focus will be on who can raise their game enough to get on to the squad. In the absence of Gadriova, there are 2 places up for grabs.

He is out with a bad ankle injury. He fell off the high bar in training. Doubt he will even be in training before Paris.

15.500 for Max Whitlock in qualifying on pommel.

14.400 for Jake Jarman - great to see Jarman consistently getting over 14 on an apparatus that's not necessarily his strongest.

Harry Hepworth with a 14.650 on rings is more positive news.

On the downside for Hepworth, he's withdrawn from most of the competition - only taking part on rings and P-Bars.
