8 years ago GB won only 6-2 in a match vs Serbia.

Now this score. Just a representation how GB team improved over years.

The following Nation have qualified for the Final Qualifying Round

  • :JPN Japan

Huge relief in IIHF leaderbord just happened I guess. That huge stone that fell from Tardif & co. backs was probably be heard even on Jupiter ... :p

Sorry for :HUN , so heartbreaking to lose this way at home :( but I warned that this Japan is quite good and they are really working hard on their program in the last years. We will see a lot from Japan in the next years

Oh, sorry, my bad. What a dumb mistake. I confused Japan and Ukraine ranking lol

Yes Japan is obviously higher than Ukraine in the Ranking, so yep, :UKR will move to Bratislava group with :BLR (assuming :ROU not shocking :GBR tomorrow obviously). On your face Tardif & co.

Maybe Serbia just did not take this tournament too seriously. The goal was to arrive to this round which :SRB did by winning the previous round. Now, they were not specially favorites. But, yes, I agree this was quite poor showing, Serbia has surely more to offer than what they showed this weekend so far.

Okay since you kind of called Japan.  Let me ask you about the 2 games that matter tomorrow.

Ukraine must win to advance.  Any trouble winning over Estonia ?

    • Exactly. Recent developments of the construction haven't been particularly encouraging, and while they'll probably get everything sorted just in time, a lot of North American fans have been quite vocal about every minor inconvenience.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
