Biathlon IBU Junior Open European Championships 2020

Recommended Posts

I wonder if there is an over/under on this event happening?  I know the US is not sending a team, with the possible exception of Cervenka who was the only US skier last week in Arber.  He trains in Nova Mesto so was already in Europe, where the rest of the team would have flown over.  He did a good job last week with a 2nd place in the Sprint.

I look for Swiss wins here.

That's not exactly a thing one could bet over/under on :p I mean, it happens or it doesn't happen (and it will), the over/under would be on the number of nations participating :d

In Vegas, there is an over/under on everything. :)   I guess it would be more of a prop bet.  I do not bet, but I would imagine there could be a ton of those in Biathlon.  Who is the first to drop a ski pole, how many spare rounds will so and so use, which team will enter the range in what position and melt-down the most ...

But not on 'will it happen?', because then it's a yes/no bet :d I've been betting for 10 years, this is something I actually know

The most common ones are of course the head-to-head (athlete A vs B) and the number of missed shots (over/under per athlete and head-to-head), although most bookmakers don't have anything more than simply 'who wins?'.

The schedule has changed:

"The sprint competitions will now be held on Thursday (instead of Saturday) to guarantee that the individual starts are held as soon as possible. The competition jury will convene again tomorrow and decide about the further programme of the JOECH. A single mixed relay and mixed relay as well as a pursuit are originally also scheduled over the upcoming days."

    • I know that probably nobody care about it here, but today in Wisła were held national championships. Only one round was held, with second being cancelled by heavy rain.   Kacper Tomasiak was winner with 128.0m, second was Dawid Kubacki with 131.5m and third was Paweł Wąsek with 122.5m, 47 jumpers competed in it.   Among womens winner was Anna Twardosz with 117.0m, second was Pola Bełtowska with 106.0m and third was Nicole Konderla-Juroszek with 88.0m. Only 4, yes four jumpers take parts in it, additionaly Konderla-Juroszek announced break from sport after being bronze medalist.    And still people were mad about Bełtowska results in Olympics. How it can be good when we have, now, just 3 active female jumpers???
    • And that's a wrap! The end of the Olympics always gets me. For a couple of weeks, the whole world is cheering, feeling the same highs and heartbreaks together, and suddenly it’s over. I’m really going to miss that.
    • I think Compagnoni is one of the biggest talents in the history of alpine skiing (in a different universe where she didn't have all those the dramatic injuries, she'd probably be a GOAT candidate), but in terms of career achievements, I believe Brignone is above her at this point.
    • Alpine Skiing Return of the team parallel event   Biathlon No change   Bobsleigh Remove the two-man and just have monotone and four-man for both genders.   Cross country skiing No change   Curling No change   Figure Skating No change   Freestyle Skiing Add mixed ski cross team event, mixed dual moguls team event, and a rail event   Ice hockey No change (yet)     Luge No change   Nordic combined Men’s team event back to four athletes Add one women’s individual event Add a mixed team event   Short track No change   Skeleton No change   Ski jumping Men’s team event back to 4 athletes per team Add women’s team event   Ski mountaineering Add individual and vertical races   Snowboarding Add PSL Add a mixed team parallel event Add rail event   Speed skating Remove the women’s 3000m and add a women’s 10000m Add the team sprint   New Sports Cross country running Men’s and women’s individual and team events, mixed relay   Cyclocross Men’s and women’s individual   Freeride men’s and women’s ski men’s and women’s snowboard   Ice climbing men’s and women’s speed men’s and women’s lead
    • I never thought I'd see the day Italy had a 30-medal and 10-gold edition of the Winter Olympics, so there are probably too many to choose from.   Brignone winning the Super G, because to me that was the story of the Games from a human standpoint.   Lollobrigida winning the 3000 meters, because it was the most jaw-dropping performance for me, as everybody — herself included— was saying she had a very rough preparation for the Olympics.   The 1-2 in the men's skicross, because it was the one race in which I got to taste the excitement of gradually realizing that something unbelievable is about to happen. That's probably why the first moment that comes to mind when I think of that race is not the final, but the quarterfinal in which the Italians eliminated Howden.   If I have to choose just one moment, I'll go with those 3 hours on Sunday February 15th in which I saw Federico Pellegrino realize his dream of a relay medal, then Federica Brignone win the giant slalom, and finally Lisa Vittozzi win the first ever Italian gold in biathlon, with a silver medal in snowboard in the middle.
