I'm shocked that there isn't a thread on this topic.  There may be a thread on media coronavirus news, but I want to know from you guys HERE.  To those who were planning on going for a long time now...since October 2018 for me...are YOU still going?  So far, as you know, the Olympics isn't canceled yet.

 

This is a dream trip for me & fiance' & I have put in about $12,000 into this trip.  IF the Olympics IS canceled, Cosport, the company who sells the sports tickets doesn't seem to be budging regarding any kind of refund.  I'll still have to find out from my airline I got the plan tickets from.  Lastly, the co. I've paid the bulk of my money w/ is trying to see about things.  The latest is that they offered us some kind of travel insurance, yet the insurance's policy states that:

 

  1. If a PANDEMIC situation occurs, this would NOT be covered under this policy.
  2. If the Olympics are canceled, but travel is not restricted, then this would NOT be covered under this policy.

 

Are we even going to be able to get on a plane to still fly there?  They may be restricting flying people to Japan and other highly affected countries.

@Forever Blue You should join my ticket group. There’s a lot of people that could give you advice, and whatnot on there.

 

I’m going unless the games are cancelled. This is a dream trip for me as well, so I get everything you said above.

I will go. Accommodation will be cheaper and tickets will be easier to buy. I am going to start to plan the trip until May so I still have plenty of time to monitor the situation.

      Honestly, I think you guys have a much better chance of success here than we do. It's already difficult to maintain this sport, and with this ridiculous format this year, things have gotten even worse. Years and years participating in the elite and we haven't been able to evolve; it was just a waste.

      Another weak result for our athletics team, which is typical; without Caio or Alisson, our chances of a medal in any high-level tournament are almost zero.   However, Juliana's result in the women's pole vault was a great 7th place. She is improving rapidly and still has a lot of room for growth.

      some changes in the team and less importance to the sport, the two big teams until 2022/2023 ( and ) in south america started to decrease a lot and in the other hand the 3rd in South America () is growing a lot, is really impressive. We are currently the favourites for the LA2028 quota

      Last few weeks of the World Cup season for winter sports (and Junior Worlds, depending on streaming), Men's Curling Worlds, Saquarema Elite 16, and some tennis   That's it unless I'm missing something, not much going on    Which is a good thing honestly, very busy next couple of weeks.

      What happened to Brazil's women's team? On the other hand it looks like Argentina may be the top South American team on the women's side. Defeating Spain, China and South Africa was unlikely up until this year
