Laurent Dubreil had a big one second lead in the men's 1000m but the japanese skater completely cut him off, scrubbed a lot of his speed and they continued the race. He ended up only 0.01 seconds into the lead after that.

I don't know the rules or practices at all, but if possible they should demand a re-race. That was bullshit. Even after the DQ, the Japanese guy got in his way on the curve.

Connor Howe, uh, not on form I guess.

yeah I was going to ask about that. Three seconds back. Must have been something technical we aren't aware of. But if Laurent was able to skate that race without interference, easily a silver or bronze behind Stolz.

I'd imagine they'd request a re-skate at the Olympics or Worlds... not sure they'd bother for a World Cup, especially at this point in an Olympic season. He'll have no problem qualifying, so they'd probably just rather he do a regular recovery and stay on his program

The women are killing it to the start the season!!

Two medals from two skaters I did not expect it from.

I was happy Weidemann looked in pretty good form after a couple off years. All three members of the Team Pursuit team look to be dialed in for their defense.

Had heard talk that Lamarche was putting up great times during training... they weren't kidding, huge breakthrough for her!
