From reading her blog it seems as if she's decided to focus on bouldering, with the hope that it'll become a separate medal event at the 2028 Olympics. Tokyo 2020 Olympians McColl, and Yip will be competing in the men's and women's boulder/lead combined events, along with Canadian record holder Ethan Pitcher in the men's speed event (5.48 PB, set July 2023 at a WC in Chamonix, France. At the World Championships he got DQd due to a false start), among others. Yip has stated this season would be her final farewell (aka. retirement), unless she can qualify for the 2024 Olympics through the Pan Am Games (unlikely, as Ramboutou, Grossman, and Sanders will most likely dominate the competition), or qualify for the Olympic Qualifier Series (also unlikely, unless Canada hosts a stop). IMO McColl, and Pitcher are the only ones who have a chance, although for Pitcher he'll most likely have to better his Canadian record (and not get DQd ) to beat Zach Hammer.
