rumors/reports say that Alexander Komarov (World U23 Champion 2021) will wrestle for Serbia from 2024.

it didn't take long for Serbia to buy a "replacement" for Zurabi Datunashvili. :d apparently he is married to a Serbian girl so this one makes sense. I mean comparing to Arsalan, Datunashvili, Kajaia, Tibilov and Tsabolov , but who cares, he is good and will one of the contenders for the quota.

UWW provisionally suspended multiple time World bronze medalist Mohammad Ali Geraei because of what happened in Belgrade during the World Championships.

his brother M. Reza (World and Olympic Champion) was about to lose his lead in 1/8 final match against a Japanese wrestler until someone from the crowd (later revealed to be his brother) threw a bottle of water to the mat, stopped it for few minutes, giving his already-dead-brother some minutes to recover a bit and somehow survives the match 10-10 or 11-10. Reza lost his next match heavily (he was already dead) but came back the next day to win the bronze and the Olympic quota.

that was a very shameful act and he deserves a long ban  I would gladly give up that quota/medal. we were always proud of our wrestlers being fair and committed to sportsmanship

Geraei is now officially banned for 1 year. of course he will appeal but if that stays, he will miss the Olympics and I believe that will be the end of his career. indeed he deserved it.

    • Decent team, on european level ofc. In a normal tournament would certainly be a Quarterfinal contender.   In a NHL level gonn be hard to keep the rhythm for the guys though, but definitely a nice roster on a WCh level for sure.   Nice satisfaction for Bellemare, one great last dance for this huge hockey legend. Fully deserved. He and Da Costa + Texier have possibilities to provide something and surprise some defences also in Milano.
    • Of all the valid points one can make, I'd say someone's mastery of the English language shouldn't really be one on an international forum like this. I think at least 80% of us don't have English as native language, and there's logically going to be a difference in levels.   Again, not disagreeing with the actual contents of what you and people here are saying, but attacking one's language skills (other than an innocent joke here or there, for which this isn't exactly the right place of discussion I assume) feels unnecessary and kind of takes away from the actual content

    • France currently has 3-4 men quotas in top 10 places under the line... If this situation will be on 18th january, who do you think they will nominate and how many slalom racers (3 or 4) if the quota will be for e.g. 7? There are many good names, like Noel, Rassat, Amiez, Muffat, Allegre, Alphand, Pinturault, Elezi, Vitale, ... Catch is that 3 of the top 4 slalom racers are not so good in giant slalom...
