Some further results

Athletics: Davies finished 11th in the race walk final in 2:59:38. King qualifies 2nd in 13.63. Sawyers qualified 4th in her group in 6.60 without meeting the mark, Thomas finished 5th in her group qualifying without meeting the mark with 6.57 SB, and Irozuru missed out, 10th in her group with 6.15. Perera qualified third in his heat with a 13.72(0). Muir won her heat to qualify in 4:06.40 but Courtney-Bryant missed out coming 10th in 4:09.11. Snowden (5th, 4:03.76 SB) and Baker (8th, 4:04.90 PB) qualified as fastest losers. Coleman came 10th in his heat in 8:39.22 and missed out on qualifying, while Norman qualified in third in 8:32.00 from his, but Seddon missed out in 11th in 8:46.74. Hudson-Smith won his heat in 44.98 to qualify, while Haydock-Wilson was 2nd in 45.45 to also qualify.

      all races are shown on public tv in places like Italy, Austria and streamed all around the Continent on the Discovery+/HBO Max popularity, instead, is another story... except maybe in Austria, tv ratings are marginal and the athletes are basically unknown, like in all the non-mainstream sports (which means, here in Italy, football, ferrari and -the newcomer in the last few years- Sinner, who replaced Valentino Rossi in this very poor list)   ps at least, there are quite a few kids practicing the sport in our mountain villages

      Nobody in the US watches it is the problem the IOC has. That and it's kinda dead as a grassroots sport - I ski and I've only seen one Alpine board in my entire life. It was displayed in a store as a curiosity and it was *old*. Much easier to participate in snowboardcross at a recrational level.   I don't think it should be removed, but Alpine snowboarding has a perception problem as a dead sport, at least outside of Europe (I don't have a good sense of how often Alpine snowboarding is shown on TV in Europe and how popular those broadcasts are).
