in USA most of the houses are build with wood even in the areas of Tornado

the wind destroys all of them ,but they rebuild with wood again & again

 

also into the forests where the riske of fire is high

i think the reason is economic , the wood is less expensive , also maybe related to the companies of insurance

That's a tiny bit less dangerous  

 

Seriously though, that new one already is in the area, it's not like it still has the entire Atlantic to cross. One can only hope it won't get to the insane strenghts Dorian had.
