Meanwhile, Lakeside has been going on for a few days. Not exactly a succesful PDC-to-BDO-move for Newton and Hamilton and a rather painful loss for the surprising Winmau World Masters champion Adam Smith-Neale, who could barely hit a treble.

Suzuki vs Prins was....quite something.

 

 

The first leg was literally several minutes of throwing at D1

Scott Baker - Glen Durrant, 1-3 in sets, 2-2 in legs. Baker had 50 left after two darts deep in the leg...and hit tops instead of bulls eye

 

He was really lucky Durrant missed his chance to finish the match, after which Baker hit D5 and now it's 3-2

Mikuru Suzuki, first time participant, destroyed the competition in the women's tournament and with a very dominant performance (including starting a leg with 180-180) she beat Lorraine Winstanley 3-0 to take the world title

 

The way Suzuki has been playing is simply game-changing for women's darts. Her averages were pulled down a bit because of some moments were the doubles just wouldn't fall, but she's been scoring like no woman ever before. What a show by The Miracle, the nickname she got after beating triple consecutive champion Lisa Ashton in the first round

Waites vs. Durrant is the final that the BDO have wished for. No other 2 players in the draw that they'd have. Hoping for a very good match.
