Does anyone know when the draws in Boxing, Judo, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Tennis and Table Tennis will be made?

Draws are generally held a couple of days before the competition. I know that table tennis draw will be held on August 3rd and boxing on August 4th I think. Taekwondo and wrestling will not be done before the Opening ceremony.

Andrej Gaćina is actually the 16th seed for men's table tennis tournament. The seeding rankings are not final yet but he'll probably stay in top 16. If he stays in top 16 then he'll receive a bye until round 3. 17-32 ranked players will start from round 2.

Does anyone know will our tennis federation nominate players for mixed doubles competition?

Probably thanks to them Dodig won't compete in doubles, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

There are not many places in mixed doubles, but after these withdrawals maybe we could have chance.

I still don't know the reason why Dodig will not compete, is it because of him or our federation?

I haven't heard anything, but if they do, I hope they will nominate Draganja instead of Coric. Draganja is the better doubles player, he has played mixed doubles with Konjuh more recently (I think they reached QF in Wimbledon last year) and their combined ranking would be better than with Coric.

Dodig and Konjuh would be the best mixed doubles from :CRO

Maybe, but unfortunately this isn't possible anymore. I also don't know why Darija Jurak is not there. The double Konjuh/Jurak apparently has not been nominated for women's doubles by our federation, otherwise they should be in by now. Shame, we could have had much more than four tennis players in Rio.

I really don't know how our tennis federation works, they sould have done some calculations before olympics. It's their interest too to have more players and more chances for medal at olympics.

I hope that they had some communication with players regarding possible olympic combinations in women's doubles and mixed doubles. But I doubt it.

Just few days left and it is time for a prediction of Croatian results:

Athletics:

Sandra Perkovic gold

Sara Kolak, she seems tobe in good shape, I expect final

Andrea Ivancevic semi-final in 100m hurdles

Matea Matosevic and Marija Vrajic, no expectations, PB would be great

Ivan Horvat, final

Filip Mihaljevic and Stipe Zunic will not make it to the final

Blanka Vlasic, I am afraid will be without medal, 5th place or similar

Ana Simic, will not make the final

Basketball: 1/4 finals

Boxing:

Filip Hrgovic bronze medal

Hrvoje Sep out in the 2nd round

Cycling: Kvasina and Durasek without special result, somewhere in the middle of the ranking

Diving: M. Maric, no expectations, already great result that she is here

Gymnastics:

Filip Ude, final in pommel horse, but without medal

Derek, no expectations

Handball: silver

Judo: Barbara Matic, dark horse in my opinion, bronze medal

Rowing: Sinkovics gold

Damir Martin, final

Sailing:

Fantela/Marinic bronze

Bambi, Stipanovic, Mihelic Top ten,

Rest without special result

Shooting:

Perec, Marovic and Gustin no final

Pejcic, Cernogoraz, Glasinovic and Gorsa, diffcult to say, all could make a medal or not qualify to final

My guess 1 medal (silver) and 2 more finals

Swimming:

Matea Samrdzic semi final 200m back

Todorovic nothing

Table Tennis:

Gacina, 1/8 final

Taekwando:

I think this time without a medal :(

Tennis:

In Singles all out in 1st round

Cilic/Draganja out in 1/4 finals

Waterpolo: 4th place

Weigthlifting: Music, i hope he is not going to be last

Wrestling: Starcevic, will lose in the bronze medal match

I hope I did not forget anyone

So overall:

2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals

and hopefully no doping case

    • Hi everyone, with most of the sports' qualification documents released I did my own qualification simulation for all events including Tripartite places based on latest rankings followed by respective World Championships. For the simulation Russian and Belarusian athletes have been considered. Please note Swimming quotas are based on 2025 results. Even though Athletics qualification hasn't been released I assumed it to be same as 2024. Universality places for Athletics and Swimming are indicative only to ensure 1 athlete per gender qualify in the sport. Here is the sheet.

    • After the Dutch team won 23 out of a possible 32 Speed skating medals in 2014, some changes were made. In the 500, 1000 and 1500 metres the maximum number of skaters per country was reduced from 4 to 3, and in the 10 km from 3 to 2. Also the quotum was lowered from 10 to 9.   In the past the maximum number of swimmers per event per country was 3. This led on too many occasions to countries sweeping the podium.
    • Good point! I had totally forgot about that. And back in 2022 we still had national threads instead of clubs, so we have surely had a huge increase of replies in club's threads comparing to the old national threads (and the Canadian club was the most active one by far).   Nice to see the forum is in a good shape and let's now focus on summer sports with the LA28 qualifications starting very soon
