The tie-break set of the final match in group C just started... if :FIN wins, they qualify, if :TUR wins, :MKD will qualify as the 4th placed team.

Another group, another dramatic conclusion... :MKD lacked a total of 2 sets in the whole tournament to qualify for the eightfinals, such a shame, because this previously unknown  team proved it's dangerous and able to play on a high level.

At the other hand, I'm happy for :FIN especially since their fans are amongst the best ones in European volleyball :d
Overall, Group C turned out to be easily the most interesting one.

After the loss against CZE, I can only hope for favourable results for the Dutch guys for them to finish 2nd in the group, so they can play the next round in Apeldoorn instead of Belgium.

But it's not possible for host to play outside his country except when he's not hosting specific round anymore, right?

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
