Very impressive single-mixed relay today.  Russia won, but what is most impressive how they won.  They were not fast on the skis, but Roduner and Grishina went 0-0 for the entire race.  Out of 40 shots, they hit them all.

Italy finished 2nd, but went 1-12 and was only 26.5 behind.

Serbia had a brother and sister team, who ended up being lapped.  But kind of cool, I wonder if they were mad at each other.

Junior Euros this week in Slovenia:

There was some really good shooting, and as normal, some not so good.  One biathlete from Belarus went 3-5-5 and finished with a DNF.

France with a very solid first day, and good to see Bulgaria on the top of the podium.  The 11th place biathlete, Invenius of Finland, finished 1:40 back with 4 misses!

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
