There were two Skielbreid sisters, except Ann was much weaker. Then there was Gro Marit Istad: a good shooter but weak in cross-country skiing. Italy once had Natalie Santer, then Ponza. It wasn't once the case that biathlon was mainly a sport practiced in the former USSR and their friendly countries: e.g. DDR? -

Yeah, think Skjelbreid was the first in the line. When I first started watching the Norwegian women were well behind the men. Forsberg, Disl & Zubrilova were the stars.
