Akio
4th
And is unlikely to qualify an athlete for the final . Surprising.
ExpandIts a shame how better men are.
Yesterday it was a travesty.
Women's skateboarding is extremely new. I agree that men's skateboarding is much better to watch, but comparing it to Tokyo, for example, there has been a huge evolution in women's.
Good result for in the men's street.
Great chance for them to reach the final.

Very welcomed (and difficult) medal that probably will be the only one Brazil will win in this sport.
Are we that bad in men's park?
It's incredible how we are totally dependent on Rayssa in women's street skateboarding.
I didn't expect a medal, not even a final, but at least a decent performance from the other two.
Edited by hoversaBRWhat a disastrous competition for Brazil in the men's street.
Not at least a semifinal for Hoefler, Vianna or Rabelo.
ExpandWhere are Akio, Barros and Luizinho?
![]()
Akio and Barros are already in the quarterfinals (Top 5 in the ranking). Luizinho did not qualify in the first round.
Let's see if no Brazilians are robbed this time (I still haven't accepted that Akio didn't win gold at the last world championship).
Covell Great result !!
Eaton got a 93.00 is a joke. A pity, because Akio had an incredible championship. Anyway, we are used to being robbed.
Still silver and bronze is a great result.
Brazil extremely dominant in the Women's Street after Tokyo.
ExpandI think they are trying to change the scoreboard for girls.
Because that 0,1,2 points in last worlds and Olympics were terrible
This competition was a little different, we had only 1 run and 4 trick, counting the best 3. 1
And even though the final pontuation was higher than at Olympics.
The trick that gave gold to Rayssa was the best trick of this competition by far. I think she deserved that, but 8+ for that trick, is kinda of no sense, if we compare with men's tricks
I was even expecting she performs that trick at Olympics, because I had seen her doing it during trainings before.
I honestly didn't have a problem with that, I think in a way it even helps female skateboarding to always look for better performances. One commentator had said that female skaters agreed with this and that it was a way for them to be treated equally for what they did and to always seek to improve.
But it's really weird, as the scores were pretty low and I think it got really confusing. If they really change, I think it will be more attractive for those who want to follow female skateboarding, especially since the Olympics somehow increased the media for the sport a little, at least in Brazil.
ExpandRayssa
I saw many comments finding her score unfair. That in other competitions this would have given only a 7.0 and even the Dutch had a lower score than she deserved.
I honestly don't know about skateboarding so for me it was deserved, but the reliability of this sport is feeling pretty low to me, which is annoying as it was one of the sports I enjoyed the most in Tokyo.

Peru in the final.
One of japanese favorites eliminated.
ExpandMen’s Park Final
Gold Pedro Barros(BRA)
Silver Heimana Raynolds(USA)
Bronze Keegan Palmer(AUS)
2 medals for Australia. I did not know they were strong on skateboarding.

And four years later and the same 5 countries win medals in skateboarding.
Good overall performance for Brazil in the Park. In the Street, however, with the exception of Leal and Hoefler, a shameful level. Probably not a good sign for Los Angeles.
