ExpandDespite this questionable penalty I'm very disappointed with the danish coach, removed all his attacking threat for no reason in the 67th minute when the game was 1-1 and it looked like it was going to be a long affair.
his objective was clearly to reach the penalty shoot-out..
Expandwhen I was a kid Italy used to lose all Penalty shout outs
1990, 1994, 1998. thanks to the Netherlands (which was even worse than Italy in PK
) that curse had been lifted in 2000. at least nowadays Italy wins and loses on penalties.
Italy football NT is the first team I cheered for when I was 5 or 6
(even before watching one match of our own NT) so yeah still a fan. so happy for that close win. Spain was the better team tonight though.
and congrats to Italian users here.
Ιtaly could have won 1996 Euro but failed because of Arrigo Sacchi's decisions smacked of a mixture of over-confidence and arrogance
LAUTARO!! GOAAALLLL!
England for trophy!!
ExpandApparently Spinazzola suffered a torn Achilles tendon and will be out for months.
Mamma mia!
ExpandAs my Belgian colleague said today: "In the end of the match I wasn't sure if I was still watching football or if I'd accidentally switched to kickboxing"

Just like Netherlands - Portugal in 2006, although that was even way worse. Both teams deserved to be kicked out that shameful day in Nürnberg.
yes and it was a shame for football that even 1 of 2 of them reached the semifinals in that tournament

not so impressive outside of Rome I must say, but still with the best depth, for me still the top fav. today the subs were even beter than some starting eleven players.
Italy lack high class players in 2 positions that they tradiotional had great ones. Left back and Forward. I
Chiesa > Berardi. Not only for the goal
ExpandWatched the match at a big screen event at the local stadium (6 screens for about 6.500 spectators). Almost felt as if we had won the tournament! What a match, what an atmosphere and what a feeling for our team!
Denmark was the surprise of 1992 and Greece of 2004 EURO!!
ExpandStrong squad, but I think most teams won't let them play the Olympics

ExpandHonestly all expected 2 wins, but double 3-0 maybe was difficultto predict .
However the solid performance of all the group is the key of Mancini's team.......... for now
Italy must take some EUROs .. last one was in 1968. I think time has come..
Expandthat won't be counted too
results against last placed teams won't be counted when they are going to determine top 5 2nd-placed teams, thanks to North Korea's withdrawal
Cambodia is an interesting team. they are not "that bad" but they play like they are Brazil or France
I mean no defense. trying to press our defense and steal the ball. if they would park the bus it could be much less.
before the last group match we know what we want. Iran will advance with a win and will be eliminated with a defeat
but if we draw. then we will qualify if 2 of these results happen
1) Korea beats Lebanon
2) KSA beats Uzbekistan
3) Vietnam beats UAE
4) Jordan doesn't beat Australia
#1 and #4 look very possible but we will play Iraq without knowing some of these results (only KOR-LBN will be on Sunday, two days before the rest)
I don't think Australia is that kind of team to lose intentionally but they are already qualified and Jordan plays with heart and sometimes they get good results (they beat Australia in the Asian Cup before) we have to beat Iraq, otherwise our fate will be in the hands of Saudis (God forbid) and Australia.
and it's just the first round
Karim Ansarifard is a player of AEK Athens !

it wasnt difficult. These were the starting XI in most of Italy's last matches. The only change could be Pellegirini (if he hadnt been injured) in place of Jorginho
