  2. The only way to organize such event like the Team sport WCh right now (before or during the early vaccination period) is to form a special strict bubble with all teams there at least 2 weeks before the start of the tournament and also force all partiipating teams to stay before their arrival also in special strict bubbles in their home countries for at least 2 weeks + testing, testing, testing and retesting... IIHF & Canada showed during the new years holidays to the world that it is possible to organize such event. IHF should learn from IIHF lol

  7. How you can in a team sport world championships change qualified teams by non qualified less than 24 hours of the tournament start is something just beyond me.
  8. One of the best threads, definitely should be revived. PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics. Kaitlyn Lawes eventual Gold medalist in Curling Mixed Doubles throwing a wrong stone in the round robin game against host South Korea. One of my fav "bloopers" PC 2018 moments https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/video/detail/canada-s-kaitlyn-lawes-throws-the-wrong-curling-stone/
  9. I knew this will happen, Petra is not training (or rather to say has very limited amount of trainings) slaloms anymore in last weeks, it is already shocking she was able to finish 4th here, just like in Semmering, she definitely missed her slalom mojo. Now, the question is, it is realy so important to fight for the wole globe, or rather return to focus on her strongest SL & GS events, where she can with better focus actually win something. Now, she cearly is losing too much against her opponents..

  14. Lukashenko proposal : During a personal meeting with Fasel, Lukashenko said that despite the protests, Belarus is a safe country. He compared the situation to what was happening in the USA, where supporters of president Donald Trump attacked the Capitol and it resulted in four casualties. "In our country, protesters and otherwise dissatisfied people do not violently attack government buildings. In Belarus, the situation is quite normal from the perspective of the development of democratic processes," Lukashenko said and offered Fasel the opportunity to organize the entire tournament only in Belarus without Latvia. On the sidelines, he said that this would be the best world championship ever.

  16. Well, what can we do ? It looks there a much deeper problem, Ivona literally dropped out at the finish line yesterday at the relay exchange and almost lost consciousness, medical help had to be called to take her away from the excghange zone. Paja has huge problems too, she has problems with keeping any "normal" pace, she can't accelerate, she can't catch up even with a slow pace, she literally only walks in the last laps. Stamina inexistant, mentally totally down. Both already visited doctors today, it seems it has still something to do with their november covid So now they will try to find out how to recover as soon as possible and start to prepare as best as it is in tis circumstances possible to at least gain something positive at the WCh. SVK biathlon will need it to not lost funds. For the Olympic qualifiers, well, it is unfortunate but now with the qualification period extended, I am somehow still positive, if they both will be OK and back at their usual form (especially Paja), they will be certainly able with let say 1-2 successful stages during next season start to qualify us to the games
  17. Fialková sisters left Oberhof yesterday, and already returned back home, they will skip the next stages. with the only goal to try to save their (and lets not hide the true also the whole SVK Biathlon) season at least at the world championships. in the next stages they will be replaced again by Horvátová and Júlia Machyniaková. Team SVK for Oberhof II. Team SVK for IBU Cup in Arber I. & II.
  18. In PyeongChang they were already not allowed to compete under their flag but still one of my most sympathetic memories from the games was the super happy face of Yulia Belorukova during the sprint and relays podiums
  19. Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined athletes at the Nordic Skiing WCh will compete under FIS flag (no Russian flags, signs or symbols in the area and FIS anthem played in case of gold), officially confirmed today by Elena Vyalbe former cross country super star and current Russian Nordic Skiing Federation president
  20. I still think the Olympics will happen, behind closed doors, extreme hygienical measures like weird medal podiums in which athletes will stand separately and hang the medals hemselves or so.. and with only vaccinated athletes/team staff. There tooooooo much money involved and already lost here. They will do everything to save at least the few they can
  21. if the president or other high-placed political representant of the country had any "business" activity other than his current political function. he would have been fired from his post a long time ago in Slovakia. Just to say. I can not even imagine our president having her own golf resort or any other commerce, do not want even to imagine the drama it would bring to the public and to the media.
