  17. eneytschel draft is tonight in Nashville. Super-generational-mega-talent Connor Bedard expected (basically assured) to being picked numero uno by the Chicago Blackhawks, his maple-leaf countrymen and fresh world champion Adam Fantilli in hot seat for second pick. Questions are around the Russian new super-star Michkov, many expect him in 3rd place but some obstacles can blow his chances, from the current geo-political situation to the rumors about his atrocious ego and let say difficult character... so let see, but bigger odds are currently on Leo Carlsson being the European #1 Form Slovakische point of view, last year´s draft will obviously never be repeated (it is just statistically and mathematically impossible ) with Slaf and Šimon Nemec drafted respectively #1 & 2, but also this year Slovak hockey have some strong expectations, especially in the amount of drafted players it can attack the NR of the early 2000s. Our top expected players are Double-D Dalibor Dvorský but special expectations are also on other 2005 born kids like Samuel Honzek, Maxim Štrbák or Alex Čiernik, let see what will happen to late born goalie Adam Gajan who impressed more than one at last world juniors or younger Samuel Urban who frustrated more than one opponent at last U18 worlds
  18. Final composition of groups confirmed. Draw for tickets in the first phase The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Host Organizing Committee have released the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship groups. Composition of groups confirmed The groups for Prague and Ostrava are based on the World Ranking taking into consideration organizational wishes by the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Organizing Committee. “Thanks to the fact that the Czechs and Slovaks were already in different groups, we were able to address another group change wish " Jan Černý, General Secretary of the Czech Ice Hockey Association and Sport Director of the 2024 IIHF WM praises the composition of the groups. Host Czechia will play Canada - the defending champion, Finland, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Austria and Great Britain in Group A in Prague. Ostrava will host Group B that includes the USA, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia, Latvia, France, Kazakhstan and Poland. Poland is returning to the elite after 22 years: "Poles are big sports enthusiasts so we believe that they will not miss this historic event for Polish ice hockey," says Jan Černý. Group A – Prague Canada Finland Switzerland Czechia Denmark Norway Austria Great Britain Group B – Ostrava USA Germany Sweden Slovakia Latvia France Kazakhstan Poland Ticket sales will start in autumn The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship tickets will go on sale in October. As in the past, only daily ticket packages for two or three games on the particular game day in Prague or Ostrava will be available from the beginning. "We are currently working intensively on the final pricing policy, but it is already possible to say that the daily packages of the first category will range from 2,000 to 5,000 CZK (approx. 85 to 215 EUR) and the second from 1,500 to 4,500 CZK (approx. 65 to 190 EUR). The first category corresponds to the 1st floor of the Prague Arena and all sectors of the Ostrava Arena except for the corners A1, A5, B1 and B5, which fall into the second category. In Prague Arena, a fourth floor is planned as part of the second price category. In both venues, we will also offer a third price category in the range of CZK 1,000 to 3,000 (approx. 40 to 125 EUR) which will correspond to the highest rows in the arenas," Petr Bříza, President of the Organizing Committee of the Czech Ice Hockey Association for the 2024 IIHF WM, presented the ticket price frameworks. Draw for priority purchase of tickets   Interest in tickets to the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship held in Czechia is traditionally enormous, as evidenced by the high attendances in 2004 and 2015. The organizers therefore came up with a novelty this year which will offer fans the opportunity to secure tickets in advance, with a draw for the priority right to purchase tickets, which will take place in the autumn. "We were inspired by the Olympic Games, the Rugby World Cup or the last IIHF Ice Hockey Championship in Tampere and Riga. The goal of the draw is to provide the ice hockey audience with an equal opportunity to get tickets. This will apply not only to Czech fans, but also to foreign fans. The winner will be able to buy one to six tickets according to their preference in the first and second price categories. With the draw, we also want to dilute the great interest that we expect at the beginning of the sale," Petr Bříza explains the form of the competition and its goals. In the first phase, all interested fans will first register on (2024.iihfworlds.com), which will be active from 20 July. Participants can only register once using their email address and phone number. In the second phase, the participants will be invited via email to select up to three preferred teams and respective game days. In the second half of September, a lottery will take place, on the basis of which the participants will find out whether they have obtained the possibility of priority purchase. "The winners will have a total of five days to buy tickets. We expect to open the priority purchase of tickets in the first half of October. Winners cannot reserve the tickets; they need to be paid after selection using the selected payment method. Of course, it is up to everyone whether and to what extent they would like to benefit from the successful draw. Approximately 20% of the sales capacity of the arena will be allocated to the draw on each game day of the preliminary round. After that, as part of the traditional sale, we will release another wave of tickets. In case that luck does not smile on someone in the competition, they will have the opportunity to purchase tickets also in the subsequent public sale. We would like to present a complete price overview of all types of tickets at the end of the summer, when we will already know the game schedule," explains Petr Bříza.   Official ticket sales will begin after the end of the ticket draw, i.e. in the first half of October. "We believe that this form, which is currently widely used, will also be attractive to our fans. We would like to meet the attendance of 2015. Fans from all over the world associate Prague and Ostrava with packed arenas and an unforgettable atmosphere and, we would like to confirm that next year," concludes Petr Bříza. Ticket draw phases: 1st Phase – Registration of participants: via 2024.iihfworlds.com from 20 July 2023 2nd Phase – Choice of teams and specific games: until 15 September 2023 3rd Phase – Drawing and contacting the winners: second half of September 2023 4th Phase – Advance tickets sale for the winners: first half of October 2023
