  1. Lim fails to advance to the final after a poor laser run
  2. in a very close battle for advancement in semifinal A (assuming top 9 advance to the final) heading into the laser run.
  3. Depending how the entry rules workout, that leaves us with 5 or 6 entries in men’s synchro.
  4. Cricket begins the day with a rain delay…
  5. Sure, the international judicial process isn’t quick. However, the world now has a very good idea of what transpired in both the Yugoslav Wars and the Rwandan Genocide. Of course, not everyone who played a role in those was tried. It wasn’t a perfect or ideal solution. International courts are only as strong as nations let them be. They are flawed, like the UN, but they are still better than nothing. They are tools. People just need to advocate for a better use of them.
  6. Of course, comments like this also undermine the important work those courts have done in prosecuting war criminals and other high profile international criminals.
  7. LA doesn’t have any international standard venues, I believe there are plans to build a new cricket stadium in Irvine (South of LA in Orange County), but if two are really necessary, then LA28 would have to cross their much touted “no-build” mantra.
  8. The ILCA and 49er classes appear to be the most open/competitive after the first day of races in sailing. I don’t believe the sport is being produced by the HB, so we all get to follow it through the results website for once
  9. Poland v. Ukraine getting a lot of attention, but the India v. Canada drama is just as interesting too. These geopolitical spats are coming too quick to keep up with this week.
  10. The Olympic Channel isn’t showing anything scheduled for this weekend
  11. Yeah, I’m not sure cricket is “Olympics-ready” if this is the kind of result that can happen. Indonesia did the footwork winning their preliminary match and then were automatically bounced by a weather cancellation. Not a great look for the sport, in my opinion.
  12. Lee/Jeon took a loss to Law/Leong this morning. Another result that isn’t too common.
  13. athletes might be able to make a pretty penny with gold medal performances.

  16. eliminated from women’s cricket after getting steamrolled by opponents in back-to-back matches.
  17. Kim/Bae have taken losses to pairs from . I assume they aren’t favorites, but still, it’s not everyday that Timor-Leste beats the Republic of Korea in sports.
  18. I’m not quite sure the account admin understood the question being asked here Also, “according to IOC” is a weird response. I know they are referring to an article on Olympics.com, but one would assume the LOC would know who has television rights in each country
  19. Hopefully in a day or two. I’m still getting a couple of things in place.
  20. What a difference four years makes… Aitmukhan is world champion and Nur-Sultan is Astana once more
  21. Right, but even when you look at the last two editions, there were entries you didn’t really see elsewhere. As I’ve said before though, I think an over saturation of events might be the reason for slim entry numbers.
  22. It’s interesting how eights (rowing) will suddenly come out of the woodwork for the Asian Games and Pan American Games. I’m sure most of that has to do with an opportunity to earn medals, but it’s interesting those entries never really translate to global events.
  23. Tensions escalating between and Link: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66851975
  24. Can someone explain the cricket tournament format? and play in a match labeled “Qualification to QF” today, but both should qualify, no? The format seems really odd with no group stage and pre-seeded teams in the knockout stage.
