  1. I’m young enough to have never watched the sport in that format, let alone without the laser run. (First time I watched was in 2015, and it was a replay of 2012 Men’s Olympic Games final)
  2. Y’all better believe New Zealand have performed a haka in every match so far . I meant to mention that earlier.
  3. I think plan does actually are the sport better though. I know many traditionalists would hate, but I have some good arguments for giving it a shot.
  4. If I was going to improve Modern Pentathlon (not that I really it needs to be), I would eliminate Equestrian. In Equestrian’s place I would Sport Climbing. Why? It fits the IOC’s modern and urban agenda. It’s unique from the other disciplines of modern pentathlon, and it requires some unused skill sets. I would add lead Climbing just to be clear. My format would be: 200m Swim, Fencing Ranking Round, 1 lead climb, Fencing bonus round, laser run (distance increased to 5km). That’s just my ideal format, I sure there’s many other opinions out there. I thought I’d just share mine.
  5. Endurance athletes wished they could do their three favorites sports in one race/sport, and boom, triathlon is born.
  6. Yeah I don’t think the triathlon is going away anytime soon...
  7. Have you seen any streams for the games?
  8. Right, but when I think of Sport Climbing, I do not think of cliffs. I think of indoor gyms.
  9. They’ve been vague about those facts. You can see mine and @JoshMartini007 discussion on it if you flip a few pages back.
  10. Tournament Advancement (and schedule for Day 6) President’s Cup 5th Place Match (17th Place Match) Should Be: v. President’s Cup 3rd Place Match (15th Place Match) Should Be: v. or President’s Cup Match (13th Place Match) Should Be: v. or 9th - 12th Place Semifinals v. v. 11th Place Match Loser of USA/NZL v. 11. Day 5 Results Elimination Round 1 0 - 3 1 - 3 3 - 1 ( Upset!!!) 0 - 3 Elimination Round 2 0 - 3 0 - 3 Winners Bracket Semifinals 0 - 3 3 - 0 (Another Big Upset!) President’s Cup 2 - 3 (Another Upset!) 0 - 3 3 - 0 3 - 0 3 - 0 0 - 3 (minor upset)
  12. I only need water. I can go 17 days without food. Plus, food takes too long to prepare. Also, that’s what a bucket beneath your chair is for
  13. That’s why I only swims in the public urine filled pools
  14. Right, we should definitely identify issues now. But calling the venues ugly, unusable, and dangerous during while there’re still be constructed is a little over the top. Corrections can be made rather quickly. Plus, no one will really how the venues look until a few months from now. It’s the Olympics for Christ sakes, the venues will be fine.
  15. Sailing’s good. They competed at a word cup stage there last year. People had a mostly positive opinion of it. For the record, I have a huge problem judging venues a year to go to the games.
  16. Well that doesn’t really help me. NBC has the rights, but isn’t showing it on the Olympic Channel (at least as far as I can tell)
  17. Like in this case. I didn’t know we get to pick and choose when it is acceptable to use photo finish. I wish we’d stop breaking ties at finish at the Olympics then.
  18. Thanks, that’s some good information for my article
  19. For one billionth time, if people really cared about who was 1st and 2nd we could just use photo finish. Why the fuck is it there if we’re not even going to attempt to use it.
  20. True, it’s one the most underrated sports. The races are generally close and quite interesting, and not that hard to follow. It just isn’t a mainstream sport unfortunately.
  21. I don’t see how the Brits were disrespecting it. Higher places are exactly the same thing. I’ll fight for 1st in a competition just as much as I’ll fight for 1000th in a competition. I give it my all, and sometimes that means sacrificing for a teammate.
  22. No she wanted to win with someone who had helped her achieve that win. It’s whatever honestly I can agree and be in the right about it, but it won’t change the ITU’s decision in the end. It is what it is, but believe it ruins an aspect of the sport.
  23. Right, this is the same principle. Runner A wanted to share the achievement with Runner B from the same country. They had both helped each other to get to this point. They had equally worked hard for their result.
  24. Well it changed position so that’s a different case. In this case was already 1st and 2nd.
