  1. I doubt it, since it kind of feels like ice hockey's qualification is usually like 90% decided by the time the previous Winter Olympics is getting ready for the closing ceremony
  2. Rare finish on La Plagne today, where Michael Boogerd had arguably the most iconic Dutch cycling win of the last 25 years in 2002, and Mark Padun started his insane 2-day form peak in 2021, before fading away again into nothing and leaving Bahrain because of a reason 'he did not wish to discuss'. Let's see what shenanigans we get today It is a shortened stage: 30km and a climb taken out because of, and this is quite rare, cows getting sick and having to be slaughtered yesterday, so to keep the peace in the area, they decided to avoid that part.
  3. I wouldn't say forget, more than it not being a similarly sized potential issue.
  4. He needs to save some energy for the Vuelta
  5. Pogacar showing how to attack in the last 300 meters Buhbye Vingegaard.
  6. Finally an attack by Vingegaard, but instead of the all-or-nothing attempt he announced, this was more like a minor sting. Didn't even get Onley out of the saddle.
  7. This might be one of the most boring 'queen stages' ever in the Tour de France, damn.
  8. Polka dot wearer Lenny Martinez should - but certainly won't, because, you know - be on his way to a DQ. Massive double/triple sticky bottle on the Glandon, if that's how you need to win that jersey....right.
  9. But the law isn't even about not allowing men in women's events. It's about not allowing trans women in men's events, no matter one's opinion about that decision, that is certainly a difference. Not that it will really change anything by the way. I wonder if there were more than 1 or 2 trans women with a realistic shot at making LA 2028.
  10. But that should at the very maximum not be more than 24 hours, and in this day and age that is already insanely long. I simply can't understand why organizations that are not capable of doing this, try to do it in their own way anyway, instead of simply using YouTube where your stream is available on demand the second it's finished. Even on the awful Eurovisionsports website it takes maybe an hour or so for replays ot be available, but multiple days is just ridiculous. By the time it's finally there, is really anyone besides some family members of the athletes going to click on it? Also sucks for the athletes. They are competing in an event that's marketed as something relatively big for their age, but not even the organizers themselves care... Edit: I am well aware this all sounds very...sour from me, sorry for that. It's just that as usual I was kind of looking forward to this (it's always cool to see an event like this and then in a few years see which names have become recognizable), and this is once again one massive disappointment because watching it just isn't really gonna be possible.
  11. This is kind of what I mean. We've now had three days of athletics, I believe, and that shitty website shows a handful of heats replays and a pole vault final....and that's it. Not even Monday evening's finals are there...and it's Wednesday evening now. https://eoctv.org/container/eyof/skopje-2025/athletics/ Just...come on, how do they think they are ever going to get any kind of engagement, at all? Oh and of course that's not even mentioning the "event X podium ceremony" videos including a thumbnail of said podium
  12. Some sprinters, that is Girmay didn't make the cut, for example.
  13. This has all the makings of a big crash incoming in the last 3km.
  14. Jannik Sinner has taken back one of his coaches/staff that got fired during his doping situation last year. https://sports.yahoo.com/article/jannik-sinner-rehires-fitness-coach-084240307.html
  15. Tobias Johannessen collapsed after the finish yesterday, required extra oxygen and stuff. But no problem, today he'll start again.
  16. My first vague memories are from 1998, but I was 7, so yeah...not too much 2000 a little, definitely remember some of the legendary speed skating in 2002, then more and more from 2004 on. Now that I am not a school-going child anymore and I have the ability to ask for time off from work, I definitely do that during Olympics, ever since 2008 whenever possible
  17. Goalie nearly had it, but yeah, against this England the ball will always slip away even when you stop the penalty
  18. And, surprise, an incredibly lucky penalty for England.
  19. I mean, that's what I'd be thinking, but come 2036 I am taking my vacation as always and watching it 20 hours a day
  20. The English luck/escapes will never, ever, ever end, will it?
  21. I wasn't suggesting actually cutting off all the slow strokes I get that a sport needs some niches, besides simply seeing who is the actual fastest swimmer, fine. However, I would absolutely be fine with only one distance per slow stroke. At the Olympics, that is, as always I couldn't care less what sports put in their programs at their own world championships, fill it up with whatever (same with my absolute hate for the sprint and pursuit in biathlon both being separate Olympic medal events, but fine having them at the world championships) The only disadvantage is that you can be the most amazing, fastest swimmer in the world, but not be seen as a superstar because you don't win a shitload of medals in many somewhat similar/relatable distances.
  22. Yes, he can, on a near-daily basis.
  23. Paret-Peintre takes it 100% saved by Van Wilder
