  1. Bassino's bit of luck is backfiring to today for Italy or what's happening?
  2. I had totally forgotten this nonsense is Olympic But no realistic way Meiners gets anywhere near qualifying for the Olympics, sadly
  3. Oh, Netherlands apparently actually had a plan to compete here if Jelinkova wasn't injured: Kiara Derks and Max van Rossum would join Jelinkova and Maarten Meiners.
  4. All aboard the Eleven Cities Tour Train, US Edition We'll make it 2500km, because US.
  5. And the organizers, judging by the way it all went Thanks though. Fitting end to the competition I'd say, at least in the men's event there really could not be any doubt about who was the best during the day.
  6. Kind of confused now that I only now see Bassino and Liensberger shared the gold According to the Dutch commentator, the rule was the fastest second run would be the winner in case of a tie, which was Bassino I think? How come Liensberger has a gold too now?
  7. Not like anyone was expecting anything remotely fair in this competition, but wow, FIS truly found another level. The qualification format which was total bullshit, the incredible automatic disadvantage for everyone doing red - blue against those doing blue - red especially with the half second rule....damn. This was a joke, glad it's almost over and we can get back to actual events
  8. With the Netherlands only having one male and one female and the female being out for the season with a torn ACL, yeah, I'd assume they returned the quota
  9. I'd normally gladly listen to former biathlete Herbert Cool's Dutch commentary, but I'm not as happy about it anymore since he blocked me on Twitter due to sometimes sending a question (which he generally asks for during the broadcasts) and sending in some possibly interesting tidbits which, according to him, couldn't be fact checked (yeah not sure if Baiba Bendika having a new rifle was in any news article, but since she was the source herself, I'm assuming she's correct). Too bad. German TV is excellent, but sadly I can't watch that on-demand without going though possible major spoilers, so Eurosport Player with the Brits it is But yeah. Not great.
  10. Commentators missing Hauser screwing up by missing the 19th and 20th shot, TV director missing Wierer taking the lead, what a mess
  11. Situation: Alimbekava arrives at shooting 4, with 1:20 minutes or so to spare on Wierer, the current fastest after the shooting. Commentators: "An accurate shoot, and a quick one, and she could be moving up into the top-2." Come on, she can take two extra breaths for every shot and still easily move in first if she hits all five...
  12. Watching the competition now, this time with Eurosport's English commentators to change things up a bit, but wow....they are...not very good, are they? "A miss, normally she'd hit 20/20 in this race!" No, nobody 'normally hits 20/20' in a 20-shot race.
  13. Interesting, it's not like this was the latest race ever or something Anyhow, I managed to watch the whole race so I'm happy
  14. I wonder how they continued then, because they definitely continued on FOX (I downloaded found the entire race, a 7-hour video, all with the regular American FOX commentary and broadcast up until the very end).
  15. Right, I thought our Iranian friend meant Samoa would get 5 more quotas this way, but he quite clearly said Oceania My bad
  16. If you have literally not seen or read anything about the Australian Open (due to a lack of time) and this morning you decided to go to their website and look at every single result from day one until today....you were in for quite a ride Who the hell is that dude in the semi's?
  17. Ziggo shows every single NASCAR Cup Series live (including the All-Star Race), no matter the day or time, with one unfortunate (and unintended) exception....this year's Daytona 500 Apparently they stopped the broadcast during the night, after the American announcers said goodbye for the day and said there was not gonna be anymore racing on Sunday. That was...unfortunate. It's in Dutch commentary only though I think, possibly there's a second audio stream on other providers than mine (like I used to have on Eurosport on TV), but I doubt it. They switch to American commentary around pitstops and during long, long red flag situations. Truck and Xfinity are shown usually within a few days after the race in a sort of extended highlights edition.
  18. Exactly the reason why, when asking questions like this, I block a part of my screen so I don't see any post other than my own Thanks though, I managed to watch the race without being spoilered What a finish, damn. Very glad to see Keselowski and Logano get out quickly and Kyle Busch a little later as well, and McDowell winning...awesome!
  19. Let's form a committee and take over the directly sports-related tasks of these shitty federations? They can keep the actual management and organization to themselves
  20. Not sure, top-8 from both tracks might make it a tiny bit less terrible than just looking at the time itself. Otherwise, if for example blue was significantly faster than red, those on blue would have a double advantage. Not saying it's good, it's not (at all)
  21. When looking at the qualifying top-16, Franziska Gritsch (15th) is missing and O'Brien has bib 16 (she was 14th). FIS? What did you do?
  22. The first change in the list when I tried it was only that Meta Hrovatová became Meta Hrtová, then I realized I needed to change the 'ová' and not the 'ova'
