  1. Meanwhile, day of days as far as I'm concerned today, only a little more than an hour to go Let's see if Van der Poel does something with his 'anger' after coming up with 'corruption' and 'the biggest scandal in the sport' (something with the Dutch influencing the ice, which isn't really true, but he probably wanted some attention, so there you go ). It's a speed skating 'scandal' so obviously it made newspaper covers here
  2. It's more hilarious to still have 2002 OR's, to be fair Not that anyone really cares about OR's, I assume.
  3. As she showed in run two Bos moving up from 10th to 6th, there's hope. Basically everything is wide open between roughly 2nd and 6th or even 7th/8th. While of course keeping in mind Narracott has a good advantage, but not one that means she can make serious mistakes.
  4. Oh absolutely. I guess that's what you get when you make a super-G by almost literally turning it into part downhill + part giant slalom instead of something that is an overall mix
  5. Not so surprising to see Gut make the gap on the super technical semi-giant slalom part of the course, but she really found a perfect line there
  6. That was quite a fun relay. Would have liked to see Austria win it, but mostly I was hoping for at least a tight race and despite Germany winning, it definitely was tight
  7. Can someone shoot those 'leader graphics' with the constant time gaps out of my screen?
  8. Ok Weidemann is going for it!
  9. Truly fantastic race by Sablikova It'd be cool if both her and Wüst get a gold in Beijing
  10. And yet we get Olympic thrillers like this week with three different countries on the podium
  11. I sadly completely agree with you, but damn. It'd be so sad, especially considering women's Nordic combined is still so....you know. It's growing and that is absolutely good, but men's NC is already fairly uncompetitive in a broad sense, let alone the women.
  12. Is it necessary, those knifes in my heart?
  13. A Brazilian-Italian friend picked up Bruna's ski bag from the police station, doesn't look promising... And yeah, that was a correct estimate. They're not completely snapped in half or anything, but every single pair is damaged in such a way they're just trash now, including a couple of pairs she bought from Baiba Bendika and one pair she borrowed from Baiba (who luckily doesn't care much about it and is much happier Bruna is still with us). The boots that were in there are at least fine, the poles seem fine, but yeah...carbon poles, not a good idea at all to use them in races anymore.
  14. Damn, so the post-qualifying rumours of Glenn de Blois' wax being the problem were true I guess....he seemed excellent, with strong turns, but his board was utterly useless on every straight
  15. For France's sake I hope Manificat makes it
  16. Gold and 6th indeed. No idea if anything more was expected for Brown but it seems good
  17. Yeah ok, this was way better than everyone else
  18. Imagine if the execution had been better..
  19. Oh no, Kagiyama with a botched landing as well
  20. Meh, that's Uno down. Haven't seen anyone perform that great yet, I hope I get to see at least one of the next two not fall
  21. Nessun Dorma But mostly in combination with a show of Frecce Tricolori, that gives me goosebumps every time.
