  1. 15/15 for Kühn, I don't know what I'm seeing
  2. In Van der Poel's case, they had their sights set on a sub-6 minute time, so they were comparing his pace with that. That resulted in an overall mood of "He's not going to make it" instead of "He's going to set a new world record!"
  3. Dutch commentators are once again disappointed with Van der Poel's race. Like they were last week, you know, when he skated a world record.
  4. Right, to keep next to the screen: # Lap Time Split Time (rank) 1 20.1 20.17 (16) 2 28.7 48.89 (16) 3 28.0 1:16.97 (8) 4 28.1 1:45.11 (2) 5 28.4 2:13.59 (3) 6 28.3 2:41.91 (1) # Lap Time Split Time (rank) 7 28.3 3:10.25 (1) 8 28.4 3:38.65 (1) 9 28.4 4:07.14 (1) 10 28.4 4:35.60 (1) 11 28.6 5:04.29 (1) 12 28.6 5:32.93 (1) 13 28.6 6:01.56 (1)
  5. Yeah, the women proved me right, but the men....damn
  6. Casey Dawson has such a weird and interesting style
  7. Again no break to clean the ice in between the women's and men's 500m
  8. Meh, the ice seems to be....mediocre, in Calgary, judging by the B groups
  9. Sky Sports wishes you a merry Christmas whilst people are being crashed into the hospital by their guy. But they're not biased at all (Hopefully and presumably this video is simply someone's own edit and actually fake )
  10. Ah, the Tour of Ecuador. We have Lenin, another Lenin, Stalin, Rommel and Leonidas in the battle https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/vuelta-a-ecuador/2021/stage-1
  11. The Netherlands will be represented by one S10. Never heard of her/him/them so I googled the name, but apparently it's got quite a nice look to it.
  12. Besides, does she mean not going or not qualifying? I mean, I do count three Germans....ahead of her.
  13. Anyway, that'll teach China! An athlete in one of the most obscure winter sports not coming, that is potentially threatening to the continuation of the Games.
  14. Nearly all of the top Dutch skaters have gone home to prepare for the OQT around Christmas, so they'll skip Calgary. This is done under the assumption the maximum number of quota are already certain, with the men's mass start (although Jorrit Bergsma went home as well) and the women's 3k as exceptions.
  15. Clara and Leni, in the Netherlands that reminds me of women who are at least in their 80's In fact, Lenie is apparently 8th in the period from 1880 to 1961 https://www.meertens.knaw.nl/voornamen/populair.html
  16. Cool @brunamoura has a little niece (2 years old now I think?) with that name, although the spelling might be slightly different, I'm not sure. Nice name indeed!
  17. Jan is absolutely an old school name here
  18. That list already consists of exactly one name here...also a girl's name, which would make it a huge challenge in case it'd be a boy because we have absolutely no clue despite several years of trying to come up with something
  19. And in the Netherlands I've never heard of a real-life Sem or Noah or Finn or Mees or Mila* or Yara in the Netherlands, but I guess I'm either living too much in the countryside where the popular city things are less popular or - most likely - I'm just not in contact with enough people, especially people with children *the neighbour's monstrous dog is called Mila, I believe, but I doubt that counts
  20. At least for the first time in years he truly had to fight for it, and not within his own team. Long ago since we've had a season like this, with edge-of-the-seat situations left and right.
