  1. 32 seconds behind. In the individual JTB was 42 seconds faster than QFM in the (of course longer) final lap, in the sprint he was 29 seconds faster. It's not impossible. Edit: ok, JTB is not making up enough time, this is indeed done.
  2. Haha JTB going "fuck securing silver, I'll attack as long as I live"
  3. Yeah, that was a bit too much pressure sadly.
  4. Full pressure for an absolutely sensational yet not impossible world title on the shoulders of poor Jonas Marecek, of all people
  5. Jacquelin somehow managed to avoid total collapse and keep the damage limited.
  6. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the Czechs now.
  7. Is that the generic Eurosport commentator? Luckily I'm not depending on that now, but I feel like the amount of times their generic things like "It's now really starting to hurt!" and "Now they're really pushing hard!" are already not possible to be counted on one hand
  8. I think that 4th shooting made pretty clear that weird things can happen today, and there are significantly weirder things imaginable than Laegreid and JTB making up a minute
  9. Christiansen and Tarjei trying hard to make it interesting, so far it works
  10. The body of footballer Christian Atsu of Hatayspor (former Newcastle United, among others) has been recovered from rubble in Turkey. In the past almost two weeks, he was reported missing, reported rescued, reported still missing and so on, but now he has sadly been confirmed dead. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Atsu
  11. Roman Kostomarov, 2006 Olympic ice dance champion, has had both his feet and hands amputated as a consequence of COVID infection (which lead to necrosis in his limbs). Damn.
  12. Good to see most top athletes are skipping it. The Invisible World Cup due to that broadcast rights bullshit, so we're not really missing much it seems
  13. That's actually true. He even did so without a rifle, he just stared at the targets for a bit and they decided to all go down.
  14. Nearly every semi-major earthquake in the world ever is 'predicted' by a guy who picks somewhat sensitive areas and says there could one day be an earthquake
  15. Absolutely, I meant the 'most medals' thing is a bit of a commentator's hype in a sport where events are added all the time Obviously nobody was going to win 5+ medals in a time when there were 4 events. Winning every single event is the opposite in those terms: more events means it only gets harder and so, purely statistically, is an even better performance.
  16. Before I start checking results, I'll just ask to be sure: there was no stream or anything of today's men's giant slalom qualifying, right? I don't see it on Eurosport's online stuff, at least. I'd have loved to see all the exotic skiers, but yeah
  17. That would be a significantly hype-worthy thing, yes Always hard to really compare athletes from different types and with different opposition of course, but stats are stats and it might make for a nice little fun fact
  18. And then we'll get the 'Most gold medals at a single world championships ever!' hype and such Right, just forgetting that more and more events are being added all the time and so winning more medals is 'easier', but alright
