  1. So to sum up for the women's 5k tomorrow: The top-10 goes to the 10k IF they have less than 180 FIS points in tomorrow's race? So if for example the athlete in 8th position gets 185 points tomorrow, only the top-7 will go to the main race?
  2. Slightly annoying that there are two former Ukrainians (both biathletes) competing for Moldova here without FIS points and so in the need to qualify, taking up two spots... Anyhow, I just finished going through the women's start list in detail to see how Bruna's chances are for tomorrow where she needs to beat 23 athletes. Basically I got to these numbers: As good as impossible to beat without these athletes falling: 7 (including Skender for @dcro ) Anywhere from 'very hard but possible to beat' to 'there might be a decent chance to beat them': 5 Should be possible under normal circumstances: 11 Bruna should beat them when not having a fall or something: 9 Which makes for 20 athletes that she should normally be able to beat....3 more needed, this is gonna be a lot closer than I expected (in a good sense ).
  3. It's not a boring day, full of excitement for tomorrow's cross-country qualifying race, I just passed an important Linux exam, the weather is good and we're gonna have a delicious dinner..... Any day is a good day for anthem fails though
  4. Slightly logical (definitely for Kuzmina) but always a bit sad. Dahlmeier is probably gonna do the same (which is a lot less logical than Kuzmina ) if she wins some gold. Not expecting to see Kaisa around much longer neither and I would be surprised if MDH goes for another full Olympic cycle.
  5. Cool suits I'm missing a bit of orange though
  6. Awesome, thanks! And apparently I missed something because that black guy is Luquinho and I had no idea he would make his youth world champs debut That fireworks, but I got it in Facebook Messenger Definitely going to check that site out when I'm home!
  7. Cross-country skiing
  8. Props to the two Indians there by the way, going far below the Olympic B-standard if I'm not mistaken ( @dcro?), so that's good news
  9. Sooo....Shehan Muthugala of Sri Lanka lost over one hour in the 15k freestyle cross-country skiing..Sajeev da Silva has gone for CC now that he's not allowed in the biathlon, but that hasn't gone very well yet.

  12. Hope for an early start number to see her start and for a late number to see her finish basically That's the good thing about mass start events, they show every finisher (at least at the Universiade they did). This start lis is one of the most anticipated things for me this season by the way. I have absolutely no idea what to expect, and like I told her yesterday, right now I'd say she has anything from 5% to 80% chance to qualify for the main race because it's just completely impossible to know who will be in that qualifying race
  13. Couldn't you have said that earlier? Then I would have bought some stickers online with the Totallympics logo and gave it to her when I was at the IBU Cups so she could put them all over Lahti I'll ask her though, and definitely the 'T' thing although I'm fairly sure that will be easier at the finish when the focus is gone (unless she's so near-dead like in Almaty where she was waving frantically to the big screen in the stadium that was showing her instead of to the camera ) By the way, they got lost in the training today and skied 5km in the wrong way....I hope it's all going better Wednesday
  14. @hckosice Well done to Brezno, just saw a video of the opening ceremony fireworks and it looks really awesome
  15. This is on the door of the changing room used by the Brazilian women, a list of nations who share that changing room....but apparently it's the exact same list as on the men's changing room, so I guess this doesn't mean Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, Ecuador etc will have a woman competing I know Chile is represented by a woman (Claudia Salcedo), from Venezuela and Ecuador I'm only expecting guys and about Colombia....no idea.
  16. Despite all this, my biggest problem/annoyance in recent weeks and months has been with people who are on the Democrat side in the US and after the elections went on saying that it's all so unfair, and Clinton got the most votes and should have won and bla bla....they should have complained about that before the election (but Clinton was ahead in the polls, so you didn't hear them then). Or even worse, the "he is not my president!"-yellers....Trump is an asshat, but he became president after a democratic election according to the rules and so is the rightful winner and the president of every American citizen.. Anyway, Wilders' decline seems a bit more serious than last time and it's already happened quite often that he got really big in polls but then somewhat disappointed in actual elections And there's still the whole thing of 'what if Wilders wins', because he'll have to form a coalition with other parties and no party wants to do so basically...I believe that caused him to not be in the government eventually last time (or before that, I'm not sure).
  17. Well, there is no denying that there are problems and whenever there is a major terrorist attack, it's also not very hard to guess the background unfortunately. I'm definitely not on the side of Wilders though, who is (in my opinion) way too extreme, but I'm also not on the side of what are considered the left parties here, some of whom simply seem to say there is no problem at all. There are definitely problems with integration...obviously not for all, not even close, but the problems exist and should somehow be solved. Wilders' plans of banning everything related to Islam doesn't exactly seem like a good solution though (if anything, it would cause only more problems with people getting angry and subsequently getting violent). I honestly have no idea on which party I'm gonna vote yet, but I do know 3-4 parties that will most certainly not get my vote. One of them is Wilders' party, another one is a party which is basically full of Erdogan-lovers (not meant as an insulting way to say 'Turkish', but meant to mean people who actually support Erdogan's ideas) and yet another one wants to pretty much throw away all of Dutch culture. Well, ok, the very strongly Christian party won't get my vote neither because I want politics and religion to be separate and they don't My guess for now is that I'm gonna go somewhere down the middle.
  18. Me? His opinion (literally): make the Quran and preferably the entire Islam illegal and close every mosque and Islamic school, that's not even close to my opinion That's way too 'right' for me, whereas denying that there is any problem at all is way too 'left' for me...I'm more in the middle about a lot of things.
  19. I don't remember that, I guess I was merely a little interested in the exotic nations instead of having my actual best friend compete like Wednesday
  20. Wilders is dropping down the rankings rather fast the past days
  21. He keeps showing every day how much of an idiot the Americans put in charge Oh well, at least he's showing so clearly that he just has absolutely no clue what he's doing that next time maybe they'll choose an actual presidential candidate
  22. Whaaaat?! You serious?? That's amazing news
