  1. now it's time for the first medals to be given up at the 2019 Rowing Worlds... starting in a few minutes (after the first Para-Rowing finals, which I'm not going to take into consideration in this thread), Today's A Finals (non-Olympic disciplines) are: - women's Lightweight Singles (h.13:38) - men's Lightweight Singles (h.13:55) - women's Lightweight Pairs (14:47) - men's Lightweight Pairs (h.15:03) - men's Lightweight Quadruple Sculls (h.15:36) - women's Lightweight Quadruple Sculls (h.15:52)
  2. 6. ouch! what a demonstration of superiority by the Sinkevich brothers... I always thought that re-building the Lodo-Vicino duo in the M2- wasn't a good idea, now we have the practical demonstration of it...way better to put them on the men's Four (they would make it almost unbeatable)... however, / / are the first boats to earn an Olympic spot this morning (men's Pair)... now it's time for the second semifinal in this same class...
  7. it's because at the world champs many young regulars of the world cup senior races would eventually come back to their age class to try and get some medals (which they're unlikely to get among the senior ranks)... it's to make it fair for them in terms of OQR (not forcing them to take a painful decision...going for youth medals or for a few -but maybe decisive- points in the OQR?) and for UCI to have the best possible U-23 race (with all the best riders in that age class)...
  8. today's early action recap... women's -78kg semifinals Madeleine Malonga vs Mayra Aguiar Klara Apotekar vs Shori Hamada repechage round Loriana Kuka vs Natalie Powell (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Apotekar vs Hamada fight) Ma Zhenzhao vs Patricia Sampaio (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Malonga vs Aguiar fight) men's -100kg semifinals Jorge Fonseca vs Elmar Gasimov Cho Gu Ham vs Niyaz Ilyasov repechage round Varlam Liparteliani vs Michael Korrel (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Cho vs Ilyasov fight) Aaron Wolf vs Shady Elnahas (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Fonseca vs Gasimov fight)
  9. well, those boats are all qualified to the A final, so the top 6-finish is mathematical for them (provided they don't get caught with anything causing a disqualification from the whole tournament)... because the WR website sometimes crashes and everything messes up (there are also a few heats/semis where it's only indicated the start list instead of the race result...and you have to read the .pdf file to know how it actually went)...
  10. 2019 World Cup, Stage #8 (Rio De Janeiro, BRA) Men's 10m Air Pistol Gold: Abhishek Verma Silver: Ismail Keles Bronze: Chaudhary Saurabh Olympic Quota: Turkey, Turkey
  11. so, the world championship is over for Italy (no more fighters left in the heaviest classes nor we're going to participate to the team event)... and 12 months after the Baku epic fail, here we go with another disaster... a bunch of 1/8 finals losses and 1 single 5th place (morally, a bronze medal, if only justice was the same for everybody)... it's just too much also for me...it's definitely not worth the effort to spend time and words for this...and when somebody in the right place would eventually understand that this technical director and these coaches must go, it will be always too late... more in general, after yesterday's great women's final in the -63kg, today we didn't have any notable match...it was quite an ordinary day, even if Japan not sweeping gold medal after gold medal is always good news...
  12. Today's final action recap... women's -70kg Gold: Marie-Eve Gahie Silver: Barbara Timo Bronze: Margaux Pinot & Sally Conway men's -90kg Gold: Noel Van T end Silver: Soichiro Mukai Bronze: Axel Clerget & Nemanja Majdov
  13. 2019 World Cup, Stage #8 (Rio De Janeiro, BRA) Women's 25m Pistol Gold: Veronika Major Silver: Xiong Yaxuan Bronze: Tien Chia Chen Olympic Quota: China, South Korea Men's 50m 3-Position Rifle Gold: Petar Gorsa Silver: Sanjeev Rajput Bronze: Zhang Changhong Olympic Quota: India, Norway
  14. So, after Today's races, 42 Olympic Quota in 7 different Boats have been already (unofficially) awarded... this is a quick recap... - women's Pair - men and women's Four - men and women's Lightweight Double Sculls - men and women's Quadruple Sculls POL 5 AUS 4 ITA 4 NED 4 GER 3 GBR 3 NZL 3 ROU 3 USA 3 CHN 2 ESP 2 BLR 1 CAN 1 DEN 1 FRA 1 IRL 1 NOR 1
  15. by ending up in the top 2 places of the Repechage Race, and join the already qualified boats from / / and in the final of the men's Eight. for what concerns the Olympic Quota, there are only 5 places up for grabs, which will be decided in the A Final...
  16. sorry, guys! you're right...I just misread the website (unfortunately I couldn't watch that specific race, so I could only rely on the final results...and still I missed them badly)... now it's all been fixed...
  17. the men's Four B Final will feature / / / / / p.s. the site looks working right now...
  18. joining the already qualified boats from and (to the A Final only) and therefore making the final in the women's Eight: / / / for what concerns the Olympic Quota, there are only 5 places up for grabs, which will be decided in the A Final...
  19. what a pity! that was a great unexpected race by the Italian girls...they just came so close to edge NZL out... hopefully they can regroup in the B Final and take the Olympic spot they now thoroughly deserve...
  20. joining the already qualified boats from and (to both the A Final and the Olympics) and therefore making the final and getting an Olympic spot in the women's Quadruple Sculls: / / / more quota will be awarded in the B Final...
  21. non Olympic boats... men's Lightweight Single Scull, making the Final A: / / / / / women's Lightweight Single Scull, making the Final A: / / / / /
  22. well, not a bad day for Italy so far... but that 4th place in the women's lightweight double sculls hurts, as it's not promising at all the poor result of our men's Four (despite getting at least the final and therefore the Olympic quota)...losing Matteo Lodo in the crew hurt them a lot... waiting for the women's quadruple sculls (very slim chance to make the Olympics, though) and the men's Eight (I'm not confident at all in this boat, but I still hope they can make the final, even if it's gonna be really difficult)...
  23. the 6 boats making the final and getting an Olympic spot in the women's Four. They are: / / / / / more quota will be awarded in the B Final...
  24. the 6 boats making the final and getting an Olympic spot in the men's Four. They are: / / / / / more quota will be awarded in the B Final...
