  1. almost impossible...they have to hope that ITA makes it to the top 4 (which is highly unlikely) and then they also have to make up more than 20 points on EST... by the way, with RUS in the top 4, also Italy are mathematically qualified to the Games...
  2. all the Italian girls are going bad today...
  3. talking of the women's Team Epee, however, with today's early scores included, China, Poland, Russia and USA are already mathematically qualified to the Olympic Games... and even in the worst case scenario, also Italy can't be catched anymore by any other European Nation (only Korea winning today and Russia ending up 6th or worse could deny us the official qualification already at the end of today's event because of KOR keeping a really outside chance to push RUS out of the top 4 and therefore make ITA not the best Euro Team outside the top 4)...
  4. yeah, but they are basically qualified in any case...there's no way the US girls get thrown out of the top 4... meanwhile this early loss by ITA could make the final event really interesting...we are really lucky that UKR are not even in the top 16 and EST just lost to HUN and they're also out of the top 8... but now France have a great chance to get back in the fight (and EGY grabbing top 16 points today can put them directly in contention with JPN for the 16th place, which would mean qualification for them and no repechage for the best not yet qualified team -possibly a European team, if KOR eventually make into the top 4 replacing ITA)...
  5. yes, sir...
  6. disaster! disaster! disaster by the Italian Epee girls... after the unexpected win in Cuba a few weeks ago, they immediately threw everything away with a round of 16 loss against Hong Kong in Barcelona earlier this morning...
  7. @heywoodu hey, man! a rare Dutch success in Fencing!
  8. Men's Individual Epee (Vancouver) Final Results Gold: Bas Verwijlen Silver: Sergey Bida Bronze: Ruben Limardo Gascon & Bogdan Nikishin Semifinals: Verwijlen b. Nikishin 15-11 Bida b. 9. so, that's not to be taken into consideration... otherwise you only need to fill a team made only of people with a PHD and you have a full "Dr." team...too easy!
  10. of course, but a true sport fan always travels with his VPN... just in case...
  11. well, Italy a few years ago could have easily sent an all-Huber team in Luge (if only the Team Relay was in the schedule at that time)... Latvia will always be second in this case...
  12. Stage #5 (Dresden, GER) 2000m mixed Relay Gold: Hungary Silver: Russia Bronze: France
  13. nice...it's like the Swiss Biathlon team with the Gasparin sisters! p.s. I still remember "Zoldo", a team in the Italian Hockey championship about 25/30 years ago...out of 20 players, there were like 15/16 all with the same Family name (Meneghetti)... and they were actually all brothers and/or cousins to each other!
  14. Stage #5 (Dresden, GER) men's 1000m Gold: Park Ji Won Silver: Shaolin Sandor Liu Bronze: Kazuki Yoshinaga men's 1500m, race #1 Gold: Ren Ziwei Silver: Sven Roes Bronze: Kim Da Gyeom
  15. Stage #5 (Dresden, GER) women's 1000m Gold: Kim Ji Yoo Silver: Courtney Lee Sarault Bronze: Suzanne Schulting women's 1500m, race #1 Gold: Choi Min Jeong Silver: Noh Ah Rum Bronze: Han Yu Tong
  16. yeah, in the 3000m superfinal of the all-round global championships it happens once every while... it's way more uncommon instead in the shorter individual distances... it was nice to watch the race, in any case...something unusual is always welcome!
  17. and then came the day of Azerbaijan... in fact, they were the absolute dominant force of the Junior Kumite classes, with 3 Gold Medals (all in the men's division, though) and 1 Silver (this one among the girls)... except for Azerbaijan's exploit, however, also today the remaining 6 Kumite Gold medals were won by 6 different Nations... the only Country capable of adding together a Kumite and a Kata Gold medal was Turkey, meanwhile Italy confirmed themselves way better in Kata than in Kumite... because of these results, Turkey are still on top of the Medal Table with 5 Gold medals, followed by Azerbaijan with 4 and Italy with 3 Gold Medals...

  21. smart move... even if I don't know how much that's gonna pay...I mean, going from 60kg to 75kg changes a lot of things on the international scene...
  22. oh, c'mon! you know what I mean...
  23. my idol however is still the Russian girl who won the bronze medal in the 3000m in Sochi, Olga Graf... do you remember her?
  24. no, maybe it was the thigh...because the camera shot was clear...she's wearing normal black sports underwear...it wasn't a scandalous "ooops"...
  25. yeah, but she doesn't have sexy lingerie like the British bobsleigh girl...it was clearly visible that she's wearing her granny's knickers... p.s. someone sooner or later will explain to me why the Italians always skate slower on the north-american ice rather than on the supposed slower european tracks... I mean, Bonazza skated 4.06 in Heerenveen and now she goes to 4.13 (with 36 and 37 secs in the last 2 laps)...
