  3. waiting for today's (the afternoon one, of course)... by the way, Germany was really impressive...and not only last night... they have a plan, they execute well and yesterday they also had an unreal shooting percentage from the arch... Spain isn't convincing at all so far, but somehow they always manage to escape any trouble... winning culture, I guess...it's the 11th consecutive time they make the top 4 at the Europeans (and 9 of the last 10 times they also got a medal, they were 4th only in 2005)... fun fact, last time they missed out on the semifinals was in 1997, when Eurobasket was played in...Spain! (finals in Barcelona, Jugoslavija winning gold against Italy, coached at the time by Ettore Messina)...
  4. this week is mainly dedicated to the Wrestling World Championships (I'm following basically only the Turkish public TV TRT Spor Yildiz for the semi/finals and the UWW website for the preliminary rounds). Then, Eurobasket 2022 (skysport Italy) and MLB & NFL here and there (my main sources are MLB.tv and NFL Gamepass respectively). Tonight it's Wrestling and Basketball

  6. I've seen ballots way bigger than that here in Italy (especially in the local election, where there are also the names of the candidates and not only the symbols of the parties, like in the National elections)...
  7. yes, that's already official... the composition of the 3 groups might change if Japan or any other lower ranked team is capable of winning the auction to host the tournaments...
  8. no, because they can't have all the big teams...the tournaments will be built with the serpentine system, that's official... but sure, Japan is likely to host a tournament if they make an auction like they did for Tokyo 2020... we'll see...
  9. you're right, but I bet a high prize that the hosts will be Poland, Italy and Brazil... the only threat to that is Japan stripping Italy's tournament...however, after yesterday's triumph (also in terms of tv ratings), it's unlikely it happens...
  10. According to the World Ranking updated to this morning, and given that Russia are still banned, this should be the lineup of the 3 world qualification tournaments: Group A Poland Argentina Slovenia Turkiye Canada Egypt Belgium China Group B Italy Japan Iran Netherlands Ukraine Tunisia Czech Republic Qatar Group C (by far the most complicated) Brazil USA Serbia Cuba Germany Mexico Bulgaria Finland
  11. in Italy a photo like this would be a crime (and not a small one) here you just can't use a smartphone/photocamera in the voting room, especially in the actual voting cabin...
  12. and this Summer we won all the youth competitions, U-18 and U-22 Europeans, waiting to complete the triple with the U-20 event that will be held in Italy in October... there's a bright future ahead of our Volley National team...
  13. gotta play some lottery games!
  14. guys, I'm spent! it was really emotional...totally unexpected... now we absolutely need to stay focused and get a revenge over France...
  15. so, the first stint of 4 games is over... the CHL will be back in October with the last 2 games for each team. however, we already have 2 groups (C & D) completely done and dusted and 6 teams in total ( Red Bull Munich, EV Zug, Luleå Hockey, Tappara Tampere, Rögle BK Ångelholm and ZSC Lions Zürich) already qualified to the knockout stage. that's all for now, folks! see you in 3 weeks time...

  17. I'd say "average" championship for us...we still missed out on 2 of the possible 4 Olympic quota places and we didn't get any medal in 2 senior individual competitions out of 4...
  18. Men's Team Skeet Gold: Italy Silver: Greece Bronze: France
  19. Women's Team Skeet Gold: Great Britain Silver: Germany Bronze: Slovakia
  20. so, yes...we can (in some cases, aka local elections) but I agree, the national political elections are only about the parties (they put the people they want in their list, which is still public, everybody knows who's gonna get the place if a party gets the majority of votes in a local section)...
  21. yes, but only in the local elections... there we can choose our favourite party as a group but also a name from a different party if we particularly like the person but not his group in general... normally, all combinations are possible...
  22. Last couple of events of the championships... Women's Team Skeet Gold Medal Match: Great Britain vs Germany Bronze Medal Match: Italy vs Slovakia Men's Team Skeet Gold Medal Match: Italy vs Greece Bronze Medal Match: Cyprus vs France
  23. here in Italy there are normally hundreds of "parties", but we always have a single "origami-style" sheet (or should I write "piece of sh*t? ) with all the symbols and names where you have to put your signature on the one you want to vote for, so nobody can't even imagine who you're going to choose...
  24. here we go...an Italian idiot caught with Meldonium in his blood... in 2022! https://taketonews.com/athletics-ahmed-abdelwahed-positive-for-doping-he-had-been-silver-at-the-european-championships-in-munich-in-the-3000-steeplechase/
