  1. That whipping part was such a cringefest, as always.
  2. Thompson slower than the two slalom guys? That's just depressing for him.
  3. Very impressive for Kerry. Perhaps his best ever, in a long career!
  4. Donovan was sadly sloppy on a lot of jumps. If not all. Will not be Top 20, unfortunately.
  5. Bleh, Ludovico Einaudi is easily the most overused music this season. Especially in the women's singles. It's like all of them have discovered his discography at the same time and thought nobody else knew.
  6. 1492: Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis can work well with both figure skating and dressage.
  7. As expected, Martins is not winning anything. Same story as in Pyeongchang.
  8. Wow, what a boring doubles race that was... Germany and Austria are so far ahead. S/K get a bronze with their magic Linger sled even with a large error. Relay tomorrow. Germany gold, Austria silver, Latvia bronze. Maybe Italy could snatch a bronze but I doubt it. ROC and the US are out of it for sure. Luge is in an interesting place... I think for Cortina either the women's doubles is getting added, or the relay is staying. I can't see both events in the program. How would they even conduct the relay with an extra event? It would become too long and totally predictable. Plus maybe only 8 nations would qualify enough sleds. Removing doubles entirely from the relay would be even worse, turning relay into not much of a relay anymore. Or maybe they will just keep the status quo. Keep the doubles part of the relay "open" and pretend not everyone will select men's team by default...
  9. Great comeback for Vlhova. Small gaps. Little boring course like the giant slalom. 23rd and 25th for us... I had no big expectations here, but Leona kind of flopped. But then again, she very nearly missed the Olympics entriely due to one inconclisove test.
  10. With a few DNFs, maybe a medal for Pfiffner.
  11. Whoa... Many were saying Medvedeva was the best ever. And then Zagitova. And then Kostornaia. Their technique was gone in two years (mostly just due overtraining under the same coach as Valieva - Eteri Tutberidze). Valieva has to achieve so much more to even be in the discussion for the best ever.
  12. Geiger was impressive, but Greiderer stole the show. Which is surprising, since I really wanted Herola to finally catch Greiderer, but looks like another 6th place for him. He finished 6th in all three events of Pyeongchang.
  13. What's so surprising there? He qualified by virtue of being allowed to enter the USA in December 2020.
  14. Has Nathan done something to your family? Considering he is the best skater of the last quad (and by a margin), it would feel pretty unjust if he were to lose...
  15. Sinnerman is perhaps my favorite program ever. But yeah, he can only be competitive in the short program.
  16. Watch out for Kagiyama. His main competition here. I never believed Yuzu had it in him to go for another gold here. It was just a wet dream of his obsessive fans.
  17. Europe has been bad in the men's singles for a while now. Javier used to get European golds just for showing up - just look at his medal record. On the World stage he was succesful too, but had an actual competition.
  18. Damn this guy. I can't believe he actually has also a non-Russian fanbase. He is so sloppy on most jumps and would have scored many points less if he only represented some smaller federation.
  19. Maki 4th (the guy who gut bullied by Bolshunov)
  20. Pretty decent results for our girls... Malec tied her best Olympic finish with 53rd. Hadžić placed higher than her Bib. Should bode well for the team spring. Maybe we could beat Slovakia or something, Prochazkova is not looking too hot.
  21. I see Italy will just conitnue winning everything in 2022. I said it before and I'll say it again. Every once in a while there is a team that comes to a championships and looks invincible right from the start. Like, even when they get in trouble, they still appear in control. Chapeau Constantini/Mosaner Did not see Norway going this far, but they found their groove. This should give their Pyeongchang bronze reallocation more legitimacy. p.s. As you can see, I will be reduced to late evening comments during the week. I just don't have the energy for night sessions. Will have to all day tomorrow trying not to find out what happens in the women's slalom...
  22. I watched a replay of snowboarding where the commentator shamelessly spoiled the results of the curling bronze medal match. The only real solution is avoiding the internet (tv and radio too), and watching replays in chronological order...
  23. The organizers have apologized for treating her like dirt, but only after our NOC filed an official protest. Not convinced we will ever qualify for the slopestyle again, but alright, who cares (certainly not the IOC and their dictator).
  24. Geisenberger is lucky that her opposition is crashing out... For now.
  25. Just in case you haven't seen this page yet... Really interesting. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skiing_Cochrans
