  1. Make that another victory medal for Head.
  2. Tippler throws a medal away like it is nothing.
  3. And he wins with a clean run. Hope Twitter did not change the results here...
  4. Interesting. ESP commentator was not surprised as Ayumu had a definite landing error.
  5. Well, that was a very nice-to-watch and inventive run for David Taylor. I am assuming likely not enough for the podium, because rotations?
  6. Yeah, but my point is that he won the gold just barely compared to Tretiakov and Yun on their home tracks. The run will end with Yan who is not even safe for the podium, and therefore the "weakest" home contender since Montgomery.
  7. Nooooooooo... Poor Kerttu. Damn that lipstick devouer. Silver and bronze is great, but the Finnish bad luck in interval racing is just never ending. I still get flashbacks from when both Saarinen and I. Niskanen placed 4th in Sochi, also with miniature gaps like Kerttu today.
  8. Medal plaza was the superior option back when the Winter Olympics had a small time atmosphere (Lillehammer etc). It stems from there.
  9. This is from the Golden Skate forum. And I thought Totallympics was sometimes autocratic! But then again, it's a pretty intense forum. Every short program / free skate has a special thread with hundreds and hundreds of posts...
  10. Well, they have unfortunately capped the total nimber of athletes. It would be surprising then if they didn't continue the practice of reducing men to accomodate women.
  11. Five? With the women's field likely coming in, men will be lucky to keep four. Could drop to three should they replace the team relay with mixed team relay.
  12. ITG article is hilarious though. They are literally mentioning how Alec Baldwin praised Valieva's performance on Instagram Yeah, isn't he just a great judge of many things? The absolute lowest form of journalism.
  13. Yuzuru Hanyu's hardcore fans in particular are downright creepy. It's no wonder he has no presence on social media and tweets like this are to be expected. Nathan was overscored in the PCS. But when you give 94 to Kagiyama, then 97 for Nathan seems fair. It's just how the system works.
  14. Nathan fulfills his destiny. Those quad flips are always a thing of beauty when he does them. That was 4F+3T. And then a single 4F immediately followed by a spread-eagle. Insane.
  15. What's "so-called" about it? If Valieva had TUE then testing positive on heart medication would be no issue. She will probably get away with an administrative sanction anyways (meaning nothing changes), but there is no conspiracy here.
  16. What a comeback! That fall was scary.
  17. Probably Uno still. Surely not Yuzu?
  18. Make that another retirement program. Well, he will also take part in the WCh, but that should be it.
  19. Kagiyama has monster jumps. Judges (and tons of fans) love Uno, but he often muscles out his jumps (no flow). Cha is kind of a wild card. Can't see him on the podium though.
  20. Don't get your hopes too high up for Kvitelashvili. His free skates this year have been... inconsistent. Yeah, let's go with that. But his Sinatra program is fun. When it works.
  21. Well, 4A was his planned secret weapon for months now. Would have been his only chance to beat Nathan. But as suspected it was more a desperation than a plan.
  22. To be fair, he opened up with 4A, a jump that no one has ever landed cleanly.
  23. Wow, Yan is even weaker than Montgomery was.
  24. The reason for having so few starters is that you need to be eligible for downhill to be allowed to start. It was hard to attain the downhill standard with so few races amidst the pandemic. That is, unless you cheated like the Chinese. In our team for example only S. Kolega was allowed to race, but chose not to. Zubčić was not qualified.
  25. But then again, nobody from Europe is getting a medal today.
