  1. Tough luck for Mouat. But on the bright side, GB still leads the all-time final tally against Sweden 41:12. All thanks to the Cobra Kai no mercy approach from the captain T.S. Robertson-Aikman from Chamonix.
  2. Excellent TV direction as always in Beijing.
  3. Yeah, the tick shots have been mastered since they first appeared. Time to ban them.
  4. 9th place for Pechstein.
  5. Scotland should have went for a split double here...
  6. This must be the most half-assed format in the Olympic program, right? And going for the second straight Olympics. Unbelievable.
  7. Who would have thought that Kramer would retire before Pechstein.
  8. Their only previous gold is covered here (top of the video).
  9. GB have put five (!) guards.
  10. Not my type of game. All takeouts, few draws. Thin scoreboard.
  11. Still not a single DNF. So much for irregular conditions. Oh wait, Klaebo DNF'd, but that's not due to conditions for sure.
  12. One of the most ridiculous measures I have ever seen. British stone was the obvious one.
  13. Our guy can't even beat and . We used to have some pride in this sport. Nope, not anymore apparently.
  14. But then again, slalom has often offered plenty of drama on the final weekend. Sometimes the final day itself. It never got cancelled. Weather fears should not be taken into account years in advance. Meanwhile, since the women's tech events got held last week, several of the top skiers did not even bother to stay in Beijing to ski for their teams (Hector, Vlhova, Dubovska). It's a joke. Unworthy of the Olympic program when even the athletes are not bothering.
  15. Oh oh. Sweden gets a biter. Likely prevents a blank end.
  16. and have previously contested gold at Chamonix 1924. GB won 38:7. Presumably the mercy rule was not invented yet.
  17. I meant in general, the scheduling. Team event getting scheduled as the final event both here and in Pyeongchang is too anticlimactic.
  18. It's debatable whether this event deserves a place at the Olympics. IMO, it definitely does not deserve to be scheduled for the final, primetime weekend. That one must belong to slalom.
  19. I was so looking forward to 50 km race in crazy conditions...
  20. Rodriguez got invited for the mass start.
  21. It was Great Britain. Surprising since with Ryding, Guest and Major there was a small chance for an upset. But maybe someone tested positive.
  22. That man screaming: "Ring the bell! Ring the bell!" The real question is what on earth was that bell doing before the penalty loop. It just makes no sense.
  23. These two literally go hand in hand. Technique is the first thing that goes away when a cross-country skier, for example, faces exhaustion. And I am not inventing anything. Merely pointing out that Witt's statement (if it was even about stamina or just taken out of context?) is in contradiction with the scientific concensus.
  24. Not what I was saying. Yes, it obviously did not teach her the signature Eteri technique. But it is very much indisputed that increased blood flow means more stamina which then equals more effective training. Eteri's team is again known for more rigurous training (quantity wise in particular). Unless Witt is a doctor, then her statements do not hold much value in regards to stamina.
  25. What rubbish. If there was really zero performance enhancement, then why would they ever give her a prohibited drug? The drug is never prescribred to minors and it is basically the same as meldonium and we all know the Russian history with that one. Heck, some Russian athletes have already served a ban for TMZ specifically (for example Sergeeva in bobsleigh). She is not guilty, but her coaching team is. As for the ban, she is probably not getting one, but it really doesn't matter. She is not going to be around for the next Olympics, you can bet your house on that. Eteri trains her students to peak early and burn out. Some of her other 15 year old students (but born after July 1, so not age eligible), were publically stating in interviews that they were hoping the Olympics get postponed to 2023, as that would have been their only chance to take part...
