  1. These continental quotas do help in development of the sport. You can't expect them to become super competitive in one cycle, but facts don't lie. I mean, Angola had like 10 boats in the 470 event they hosted. For reference, Croatia is the current Olympic champion in this category, and yet at the moment we literally have nobody competing in 470 (men or women), as the winning crew has split. Rising interest in Angola can only be attributed to them competing in 2016. Same goes for Oceania. In 2016 only Cook islands attmpted (and succeeded) in getting Oceanian spots. Now we have sailors from American Samoa, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Samoa. 300% increase in participation of the Oceanian island nations!
  2. Darznieks lead after the first run, Dukach qualified for the sprint. That just about describes the ridiculousness of today's race.
  3. Laurie Taylor made the second run. Too bad ESP is broken, so I can't hear their commentator making this a hype of the month.
  4. + Sun came out, so it is beneficial for the later starters. Norwegian coach somehow managed to set such a boring course on an interesting slope like Kitzbuhel. It's an achievement in itself.
  5. Going by all this attention, and the way China seems to overreact, I am starting to wonder if all this started after an accident in some bio-warfare lab.
  6. But then again, it's easier to be a curler in Poland than a sailor in PNG?
  7. And now he leads after the first run.
  8. McKinlaigh passed away at 26. Mostly known as the horse with whom Gina Miles finally put West Coast on the US eventing map. Career highlight is individual silver from Beijing 2008.
  9. I wouldn't bet on it. Better teams than Hong Kong have already been eliminated.
  10. It was completed today. Only one quota was available for both Laser events. Trinidad and Tobago qualified in men's Laser.
  11. Looks like this forum completely jinxed India (and Sri Lanka at that).
  12. We couid potentially see very regional semifinals among the men... vs vs Favorites are not doing very well atm.
  13. Oh... Apparently Oceania somehow has two quotas per Laser category So, congrats on free quotas everyone.
  14. It's important to note that it happened the only time Italy had 5 jurors.
  15. Kitzbuhel once again being showbizz rather than serious race.
  16. Not really, you can use lights instead of sound.
  17. There is just no excuse for not using thousandths of a seconds these days... In any sport.
  18. Going by the current entries, looks like the Oceanian quotas in Laser will be decided between (men) and (women).
  19. Well, to be fair, it is something new. As obnoxious as it may seem, maybe all this media attention is helping limit its spread (just like it seemingly helped with ebola in 2014 and zika in 2016).
  20. North American League, Stage 6 (Wellington, Florida) Olivia LaGoy-Weltz (Lonoir) - 80.495% Juan Matute Guimon (Don Diego) - 77.950% Lindsay Kellock (Sebastien) - 75.880% Full results...
  21. 2nd Round Play-offs... Men vs vs vs vs Women vs vs vs vs Losing finals at this stage will be utterly cruel...
