I'm quite disappointed with the quality of baseball. We had professional leagues up until World War One with the big football clubs of the period entering teams and the in the 1930 we actually beat to become the first amateur world champions. But the last 80 years have been very poor.

From a Brazilian journalist. Conmebol confirmed this was a qualifier but "Yes, Conmebol over stepped. But FIFA won't vacate those spots. Brazil won't play World Cup qualifiers or the new Nations League. They will have to accept it" -

Do the IOC still have the rule that all sports in the Winter Games must be played on ice or snow? Or did they get rid of it?

But the IOC can still overrule the Organizing Committee. Which is what I think they would do with sled dog racing (cruelty to animals) and freeride and speed skiing (safety of humans)

If Britain had gone for single sculls rowers for the last 40 years we would have won a small number of minor Olympic medals. The trick is to know which events to specialize in. It's the same in canoeing

Interestingly there was a documentary on British TV yesterday about the 1st Women's World Cup in 1991. Apparently the USSR team financed their tournament by importing crates of Vodka and illegally selling it

After each team has played 4 of 6 matches in the European Qualifier things are going to plan. 4 wins from 4 3 from 4 1 from 4 0 from 4 and losing every game badly

OK. This is a bad sign. The sports and events I want to include would be the ones I would know would be good at. But to be honest I do really like tumbling, tug of war and canoe polo. Tumbling I find spectacular, tug of war everybody in Britain competes at school sports day and one of my neighbours competed in canoe polo. This sounds horribly biased
