  1. You are absolutely right, most people dont want to see the truth, like small children who think that covering their eyes witht heir hands makes things go away. I think France is a great role model, for example probably no one in France assumes that Bardet is clean.
  2. Its heartbreaking to see Harting being robbed again. I have no hope for the american person to lose its medal, but hopefully the other 2 will.
  3. Sad that european hero Yasemin Can wont medal, she was the great european hope.
  4. I think we have to face reality: An event where 3 fat guys, who probably couldnt run 100 m without a heart attack, win the medals cant be called a sport.
  5. 10000 m needs to be cut asap, completely stupid event, not quite as shitty as race walking, but still mind-blowingly shitty.
  6. Mens discus throw reminds me a lot of womens 1500 m at 2012 olympics and we all know what happened to some of the medallists afterwards, hopefully the same will happen with the medallists this time.
  7. No, no european will medal and also no american. I think the doper will win gold.
  8. I am obviously talking about Christoph Harting who should easily dominate the next 5-10 years. I also dont like seeing fat people win medals in sports, so i hope that Gudzius and especially Stahl will disappear soon. Athletes like Gudzius, Stahl and Finley have to be stopped by IAAF, their cheating is getting too obvious.
  9. Horrible performance by Klosterhalfen, just horrible. When will she and her coach learn how to peak at the right time? It was the same last year. She will probably run some crazy times later this year, but if she cant perform at big competitions, she will never be more than a sidenote in the history of running.
  10. I cant believe it Hanna Klein made the final beating Dibaba! The result in mens discus throw on the other hand is just disgusting ... 3 guys who were completely irrelevant until this year suddenly destroy their PBs, it cant get more obvious than that. Hopefully Harting will come back next year to show them their place. Also very disappointed by Abdul, he was destined to make the final but completely choked. Very slow times overall, would be amazing if Prescott would medal, really love his running style.
  11. I hope that Masso will win a medal, would be cool to have a world class cuban long jumper again. Sadly i dont see anyone beating the doper, so congrats to South Africa in advance. A doper and a man running against women ... way to go.
  12. Ironic? How is it surprising? I dont remember him ever running close to his best at an international competition, not even sure if he ever made it out of the heats ...
  13. My prediction before the start of this event was that Sani Brown would make the final in the 100 and 200 and i think it looks more and more likely to become true. A japanese guy winning medals in the sprint, we are on the verge of witnessing something historical. Hard to see anyone else than Hassan, Dibaba, Kipyegon and Semenya winning the medals in "womens" 1500 m.
  14. I was very skeptical about the schedule, but ... watching prelims and qualification with such a crowd gives me chills, a lot of athletes must feel the same, amazing job London!
  15. Interesting picks by Athletics Weekly: Womens 400 m: Gardiner to medal (instead of Makwala) Womens 100 m: Dont see Ahye beating Ta Lou Womens 800 m: Wilson to beat Wambui Womens 100 m hurdles: Only 1 medal for the US Womens long jump: Spanovic to beat both Americans ... yeah ... Womens shot put: Marton to take the gold ... ? Overall their predictions are pretty good in my opinion.
  16. Yeah ... thanks for reminding me, it was really a painfully long time without a medal, but Germany always is very weak the first few days. About Karsch: It really was a great comeback and it reminded me how much i cheered for her being selected for the german team, despite not winning a quota place. Some person (i wont give his name ...) even said "If they were something special they would qualify " about Karsch and Engleder, because they werent qualified at that time and i asked for the german federation to switch quotas for them ... http://totallympics.com/index.php?/topic/25-shooting-qualification-for-summer-olympic-games-2016/&page=3 End of the story: Karsch won silver at the olympics and Engleder won gold ... so i guess they are something special after all.

  18. Versailles is a great location too of course, but i remember the "Paris Eiffel Jumping" in front of the Eiffel tower and its one of the best locations ever in equestrian for me. On the other hand they couldnt host the eventing competition there, so its probably better to have all in one place. Glad to here that open water and triathlon will take place in the Seine, should be spectacular.
  19. Sorry, absolutely wasnt supposed to be a critique, i prefer your version, because it allows you to really relive the olympics. For example if Germany won a gold in rowing on day 7 and a silver in artistic gymnastics, then watching those two events after another brings much more joy for me than watching them a couple of days apart, because it brings back a lot of memories. So again, great job! By the way: I don't think that anyone here is too lazy to just pick out those events that he is interested in, so i doubt that anyone has a problem with the way you ordered it.
  20. Don't know if this belongs here, but for all the basketball fans: https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/playback/usa-vs-brazil-barcelona-dream-team/ Team USA (Dream team) vs. Brazil at the 1992 olympics, should be the full match.
  21. Great job! Did you order it by days or did the IOC order it like that on their website?
  22. Great news, i think we can be sure that Trump will be gone by 2028 (of course it only matters if the US/world stille exists by then). I would have clearly preferred any ways and i am pretty sure that those will be my first olympics in person, considering that the next 3 olympics will be in Asia. I think Paris will be an amazing host. They basically have all the facilities for cycling (beautiful Velodrome), team sports and many more sports. Cycling, marathon, archery and equestrian (jumping) at the Champs-Elysees will be breathtaking. Hopefully triathlon and maybe canoeing, rowing or open water swimming will take place in the Seine.
  23. So sad, i really loved this guy, i guess we can already say that Kelly has a negative influence on Trump ... Some of the "best moments" of his sadly too short career in the White House: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smF2_B0Qtm0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn_Mlwouwng https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_9oad2PpPM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IPykdnv0fg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpMEXDY-L4M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1PvIJjpPvE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqa4kykOsEk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-0G_D9iBAE The intereview with the BBC (2nd to last link) was one of the best interviews i ever saw, especially his explanation as to why Trump isn't an elitist ...
  24. Anyone else had a look at the timetable? Only days with morning sessions are days 2 & 3 (first weekend), day 8 (second friday) and days 9 & 10 (second weekend), all other days there wont be any competitions before 18:30 local time (19:30 german time). Not sure if i like it ... Interesting that they are giving up 5 morning sessions, don't think that this is really in the athletes interest.
