Congrats to Sweden and Mexico. I am sad that Mexico probably will again be eliminated in the round of last 16, but they only have themselves to blame. The good thing is that Löw and Özil will be gone. There is easily enough potential to regain the title in 2022, the german federation just needs to find the right coach. I hope that Belgium or France will win the world cup. Also congrats to all the germany haters on here, although i will never understand how a person can hate a whole country, you must lead a very sad life to sink that low.

Why do you think that Denmark has such a great defense? France didn't even try, peruvian players couldn't score to save their lives and Australia scored a goal against you, but probably should have scored more. Croatia will be the best opponent you faced so far, their players will be rested and their B team was able to score twice against Iceland. For me Croatia winning by less than 2 goals would be close to a miracle.

Many reasons: 1) I like the french team more 2) I think France plays better football 3) I think France has a better chance of stopping Neymar/Ronaldo/Ramos from winning the world cup 4) I don't like Maradona

It's natural to be pessimistic about your own chances, but for me you are the big favorite with Spain. People say you didn't look very convincing, but in my opinion you just did enough to top the group, no need to waste energy during group stage.

Hearing you say that makes me nervous, because i want Argentina to be eliminated. If they play like africans, they will probably play great and then find a way to choke it away.

I am very sad for Nigeria, they deserved more, but a world cup without Argentina in the knockout stages would feel weird, although they will be chanceless against France in my opinion. Thoughts about the game: 1) For me it wasn't a penalty 2) In my opinion it should have been a penalty when Rojo played the ball with his hand 3) Why only 4 minutes of extra time? 2 x VAR, a penalty, tons of substitutions, argentinians blatantly taking time off the clock after scoring their second goal ... even 6 minutes probably wouldn't have been enough. 4) Why is a guy like Meza playing (who has been atrocious), while guys like Dybala, Icardi or Aguero barely/don't play? 5) What happened to argentinian defenders? I remember that they had world class defenders like Ayala, Sorin, Veron or Heintze not too long ago. Must be amazing to be an argentinian fan in St. Petersburg tonight: Dramatic last-minute win to secure the round of last 16 + the white nights in St.Petersburg, i think a lot of argentinian fans won't get any sleep "tonight".

Just imagine both Sweden and Germany winning their last game 2:1, then it would be: Mexico 6 points, goal difference of 4:3 Sweden 6 points, goal difference of 4:3 Germany 6 points, goal difference 4:3 3-way-tie: Sweden 3 points, 3:3 goals Germany 3 points, 2:2 goals Mexico 3 points, 2:2 goals Then Sweden would be first and the 2nd place would be determined by drawing of lots. I think the extra time wasn't correct, it should have been more than 5 minutes, as Sweden started with their time wasting even in the first half.

Just imagine Sweden beating Mexico 1:0, then it would be (if Germany wins against South Korea): Sweden 6 points, 2:2 goals (against Mexico and Germany) Germany 6 points, 2:2 goals (against Mexico and Sweden Mexico 6 points, 1:1 goals against (Mexico and Germany) I think if there is a tie concerning points, then the team with the best goal difference out of all games will advance, so if Germany beats South Korea by 2 or more goals, then either Sweden or Mexico will be out. Mexico will try to avoid Brazil any way, so i don't see any chance that they will not at least get a draw. In my opinion Sweden is out if Germany wins against South Korea.

Always luck = ability. Don't worry, the way Germany is playing, you will be rid of them after at most 2 more games.

Please name those mistakes. Brych is one of the best referees in the world and Urs Meier (i know he is swiss, so he clearly doesn't know what he is talking about ...) said that Brych did a very good job.

It's better to have such fans or what? Shaqiri and Xhaka celebrated the way they did, because they were booed by serbian fans for having an albanian background. I am not surprised you didn't mention that, it perfectly fits the way you have commented in the past about things like that. Many serbian users on here have given some very "weird" comments about things like that in the past, but only if it concerns Albania/Kosovo. If it concerns Russia or Serbia, then everything is fine. I don't know if the serbian people on here represent the view of the majority of serbian people, but that certainly would be very sad.

There are different degrees of good and bad, let's say that if teams like Argentina would play at their best, then there would be nothing teams like Iceland could do to get a draw/win (except for getting extremely lucky/bribing the referee). The fact that those small teams still get good results shows me that the big teams are not at their best. If we assume that big teams have about the same individual strength as they used to and are about as prepared for those small teams as they always were, then i have to conclude that most players of the big teams (who play in big leagues) are just not fully fit/very exhausted from a long season. Some people find joy in small teams getting surprising results, but for me my joy when watching football depends on the quality of football i see (e.g. spectacular goals, great dribbling, great passes). So far i haven't seen a lot of those things, so for me the quality of football so far has been poor. Edit: I don't think there is a non-simplistic way of trying to discuss this topic on here (unless we want to write pages of in depth analysis), if you want to be able to discuss a topic like this on a platform as this one, you are probably bound to make simplifying assumptions.

Possible, but don't you think that e.g. people from Ghana could behave the same way? We have a certain person on here who is patriotic concerning africa as a whole, maybe more people in africa are like him and just cheer for every african country?

How can you expect african teams to win, if even a hardcore fan like you doesn't have any trust? You need to be more positive!
